I went for a facial on three days ago (on Tuesday), and the aesthetician (who is pretty saavy normally) recommended doing microdermabrasion on a very light setting on my undereye area. I could barely feel it but she thought it would stimulate circulation and help build collagen there.
This morning, when I woke up, my undereye area was puffy and VERY wrinkled. (Normally, it has some very fine lines but looks extremely good for my age.) No kidding -- I had instantly aged about 25 years! Ugh!!!!
I tried the old tea bag compress trick but that had no effect at all. I then tried some Matrixyl 3000 that I have (Face2Flaunt LE) and directed some warm air from the blow dryer towards my eyes for a minute or two. Amazingly, that helped a lot! I also put a very small amount of Skinceuticals C+E+F under my eyes (not sure if this way a good idea but it didn't seem to hurt).
My undereye area is almost back to normal. I am assuming that the culprit was the facial. Needless to say, I think I'll pass on the undereye microdermabrasion next time. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me, or have any opinions as to whether using the C serum is good, bad or indifferent?
As always, thanks for your help! |

Copper peptides are good for healing, cathy jean. I know that they are recommended for after you do a peel for healing. |

Hi rileygirl
Thanks for the advice. I just went to the Skin Biology site and ordered the mild CP eye cream and skin cream. I've been meaning to start with CP -- I've got Super COP and I've been doing some mole removal work but that's it so far with CP for me.
Skin Biology's website said that CP can help rebuild the undereye area ... I am definitely motivated. You know how in "A Christmas Carol" Scrooge gets visited by the ghost of Christmas Future and then gets motivated to make a change -- yes, that is what this experience has done for me!

I have had similar experiences with glycolic acid peels (which I do at home) if IF leave it on too long then the next day my skin looks wrinkly and old but its just that it has had some of the superficial layer peeled off plus microdermabrasion and peeling always leave the skin dryer BUT after about 4 days your skin will look lovely...I do use them because I dont want any down time but get carried away sometimes and leave them on slightly longer than I should...your eye area should look better than usual in a few days. |
