Although I've used MMU for years and am happy with the results, I am intrigued by an infomercial I saw last night about the Luminess Air Airbursh system.
Anyone know anything about this? I searched the Internet and it seems to be brand new within the last week.

This is the first I've heard of it but it's intriguing. Seems very new and there is some buzz, but I have not seen an actual review.
There is another brand called Temptu.
I'd love to learn more about this. |

This looks very interesting! I currently have an air-brush system I got off of ebay and really like it, but I may have to try this one as well. |

Which airbrush system did you get off e-bay? What foundations do you use with it?
I am very interested in Luminess and the other airbrush systems out there as well. Anyone out there using any of them? |

Hi, I think it was called O2Oxygen system??)off of ebay) iirc, am at work , do not have it with me, lol!
I did purchase the Luminess as well, it is awesome! Seems to give a more even and stronger mist than the one I purchased off of ebay.
The price was about the same as ebay, I got the pro model from Luminess, hths. I do really prefer the Luminess air one. |

Hi, lipglossdoll, and thanks so much for the info. I've just seen the infomercial and would love to try this method of make-up application.
I've been round and round on the Luminess website but can't seem to find out whether they ship internationally (I'm in Canada). Anybody know? TIA. |

Lipglossdoll - I also have a question: Have you ever used the SKII airtouch system (which I am planning to buy this month), and if so, can you compare it to what a real airbrush system is like?
Thanks - |

Hi, they do ship to Canada, only took about 2 weeks.
I do have the SK-II as well. I use the SK-II when I do not have as much time to get ready in the morning.(quicker, just need to press a button , no set-up). I find the coverage of the SK-II is more fine and light, but it makes your skin look awesome as well!
The luminess is more medium coverage, also has 3 settings on the pro model, light, medium and a stronger setting to use for the body.
I have both and use both, yes, I do have TOO much makeup, lol! |

Well, lipglossdoll, knowing that they ship to Canada provided the flimsy nudge I needed to order the Luminess Air.
I really am hopeless; it isn't even New Year's Day here yet, and I've already broken my resolution to spend less money on skin care, make-up, fillers, botox, gizmos, clothing and generally good stuff that makes life worth living.
It's time to revise my resolution: I'll start saving AFTER I receive this one last thing. I mean it, too. I'll walk by shiny things and won't even be tempted! No, really... |

Lipglossdoll -
What sunscreen do you find works under the SKII & Luminess?
Do you use powder with either of these foundations?
How does their staying power compare to each other?
If you need to blot oilies during the day do you find that either foundation comes off on the sheet?
Thanks!

My Dad bought my Mom the Luminess air airbrush for Christmas. I talked to her tonight and she is not sure about it yet. She is wondering where she can buy more makeup to play around with. She said the only thing she could find was a monthly club you have to join on the luminess website to receive refills. She doesn't want to do that. Is there somewhere she can just buy the makeup, no strings attached? Or is there another brand of makeup she can use in it? |

Girlzmommi, hi, I use La Roche posay anthelios Lait. (daily, my holy grail of sunscreens) I always use powder after applying.
During the day when touching up I do not find it comes off any easier that a regular liquid foundation. (if anything it lasts longer) Hths. |

Oops, forgot to add that I find the luminess more long-lasting on my skin than the SK-II. |

I honestly have to say that it did take practice to learn how to use, and a few trips to youtube to watch the training videos, and calls to their customer service. (The trick: ask to speak to a beauty advisor, you hold but it is worth it!) After a month of use I am blown away with the results. True, I am paying for a more expensive makeup than if I bought makeup at a CVS or Target. If that is what you want to spend look the other way. I was always taught that you get what you pay for, and I am convinced that you are paying for flawless here! I have to say to all the other bloggers who are giving this a low rating on the spammer sites must not have given their selves a chance to learn how to use this, as it took ME about a week to learn how to use this. I saw some complaints about the customer service, and that made me very sceptical because the last thing I want to do is hold on a phone for an hour and not be able to speak to anyone. When I was first learning how to use this I became frustrated as it was not something that I could use the first time I picked it up, and reluctantly call customer service. After speaking to a representative for a few minuets, I realized that this person was just that customer service. I spoke three magic words "Makeup Artist, please" They put me on hold, and then I was speaking to this knowledgeable makeup artist, and I felt like I was speaking to a friend that I had know for years, not only did she tell me how to use the airbrush and what type of airbrush cosmetics would be best for my type of skin ("Crisco"), but she made me comfortable, and shared tricks with me to make the experience as she put it, "as fun and flawless as possible" Thank you Yvonne, you are a fantastic makeup consultant! I just want everyone to remember that this is not the same a using a makeup sponges, or a foundation brush to apply your makeup. This is an real airbrush system, a professional makeup machine!!!! Not "airbrush makeup in a can!" It was worth every dollar that I spent on this system. Once I learned how to use it I kept getting comment like, "you look well rested, Wow your glowing, what did you do you look different." Even my husband said, "whatever your doing I like it." For him to notice that something was different is power! I am IN LOVE with this product--it is so refreshing to find a makeup that actually does what it says!!!! I do not look dry, I do not look cakey, I do not look "made up". I now have the look of airbrush perfection, of perfect skin! |

I bought a Luminess on HSN as a today's special and returned it because it stopped working one day all of the sudden. I got it to come back on, but after all of the bad reviews I thought it was best to upgrade to a "better" product. So then I tried Dinair. I'm not too happy with the customer service. I left a Facebook msg about how orangey I look and they never got back to me. Plus, I was under the impression that they would bill me in monthly installments, the first pymt not to go through until 30days after I had their product. BULL-YAH!!! They charged me the entire amt ($178, THEN they discounted it $50 2wks later, for Black Friday--but ignored my Facebook msg about that too!!) and I don't think that the mk/up is any better. I should've kept the Luminess and took my chances, it was 1/2 the price ($89 free shipping). And I prefer the Luminess mk/up too. Not as orangey, maybe because I mixed it & it's sold on HSN in different configurations, no clubs involved, (but they do offer autoship). So, I have a Dinair system but will be using the Luminess mk/up unless I can find something that really matches. Also, the sample sizes of the Dinair mk/up are ridiculously small. I can hardly even get it out of the bottle. What a joke. |
