Blotting papers? Mattifying moisturisers? Matte foundations? "Shine-free" gels/liquid powders like smashbox or clinique? Loose powder like cornsilk?
Is there an EDS consensus on what works best? I'm sick of my oily t-zone! |

I was struggling with the same oily T-zone issues prior to finding this forum. Following the advice of others I have found the following three products (trial & error with several products before finding success) have solved the oily problem for me:
**After washing AM & PM I apply a combination serum of 2% BHA & 5% AHA. This keeps the pores cleaned out, minimizes breakouts and helps control the oil production.
**Every AM, after applying my MMU primer I apply silken pearl paste to my T-zone area before applying MMU.
**After applying MMU, I apply a light dusting of Lumiere VV finishing veil
This has worked beautifully. I can go all day without having to use blotting papers or powder. |

what i usually use to take away any shine from using sunscrean is take a powder brush and some baby powder in the palm of my hand and then taking a lil bit on the brush dust that over the face and neck area using the brush in round movements over the face......it works well for me |

Graceless, try Skinn Orchid Gel. Its A-1 for mattefying your skin, eyelids, lips for a flat, non dimensional look under your makeup. Or use it alone for a no makeup look. Totally blurs your facial flaws and takes away oily shine forever. |

Thanks so much for the suggestions!I shall definitely check into Skinn Orchard Gel and also pearl pastes/powders - I've seen them mentioned a few times here so will do a search to check it out in a bit more detail (but if someone has a specific recommendation for a good pearl paste, I'd be grateful as I must confess I'd never even heard of pearl paste before joining this forum, so am rather clueless as to where to buy). |

I also go nuts for Jurlique Silk Dust for oil-blotting. This stuff keeps shine at bay longer than any other powder I've tried. I also have a combo silk/pearl dust that helps a lot for this. Good luck! |

Fairlady,
Where do you buy your AHA/BHA combination serum?
I keep hearing about AHA and BHA but am not sure the best place to buy.
Thank you!

graceful lady [as opposed to graceless ] --- For me, the best way to control the shine is definitely the silk/pearl powder from a home-based company along with the silk/pearl paste. I also use a BHA/AHA combo from a different home-based company everyday to keep pores clean and rarely get blackheads any more. I never have to use blotting papers any longer, stay shinefree all day. Quite a change from one year ago when I had to start blotting by 10 am! Please feel free to PM me for links to the companies. |

Chickenlittle:
I will PM you the information. I purchase from a home-based company and I believe we are not permitted to promote/discuss home based products on the forum.
I will forward the information to you, so just check your messages in a few.
Take Care |

Bar none, the best "mattifyer" I have used is Aloette Flawless High Performance Rapid Skin Perfection....it softens lines is so soft going on, feels like powder. I have the Skinn one also and although it is good, the Aloette is better. |

Good day Tulipp! I've tried Aloette's rapid skin perfection and find it too drying. Do you? |

Just one quick shot: DO NOT USE BLOTTING PAPERS: Most of the blotting paper takes away the healthy oil off your skin and cause your skin produce more oil.
I used to have a pack of Cleanclear blotting paper and I shared this as a secret weapon among my friends. They did a quick job but in long term, I suggest not using them.
shu uemura has one blotting paper, which is quite nice. But I now just make sure I have applied enough moisturizer everyday and it works! |
