Hello all, I know it might be coming into winter for some, but it is almost summer here - any good self-tanning lotions? Don't like spray-ons and definitely don't do solariums. Must be easy to apply - streak free and no-wait. In search of the elusive "perfect" self-tanning product. Thanks. |

My very favorite is actually a towlette, not a lotion.
L'Oreal Sublime Towelettes
Especially the ones for the face, they are the only ones that will work for me. |

Is it orangey or a nice shade of tan? I am asian, I will look like a red factor canary if it has the slightest hint of orange!!! |

The Fusion brand is the best and I have tried many, doesn't smell at all, dries fast, no streaks, even natural colour. A bit pricey though. |

I am in Australia. Can you get the Fusion brand online anywhere? |

They sell Fusion here at EDS. Is that the one you were talking about Bugaboo? |

Yes, that is the one, couldn't remember the full name. I haven't tried the airbrush gun but I probably will in the summer, I am sure that it is good too. |

Bugaboo, do you find you can get the tan even, using the spray mechanism? How do you tan your back, how can you reach? Also, the face - do you cover your hair then spray?
sorry for all the questions!
I have tried St Tropez, which I really like, but have still to master getting an even application without streaks. I also like Dior, but I'm still looking for my HG tanner.
Have you tried the Fusion Tan Enhancing Emulsion too? |

Bugaboo - thanks. I have questions too - how do you get the stuff on without the airbrush? It looks watery. Does it give you brown hands? Do you have to wait before putting clothes on? What about the face, do you just sort of rub it in? Will there be a line between face, neck etc...? Did you just purchase the "refill" without the airbrush? It seems exxy but 230mls is quite alot, therefore quite a few summers. Worth it if it works. Sorry about all the questions.

I am as pale as pale can be, dead people white The color looks great on me but I can answer for any other tone, I get a nice bronzing. |

I'm like Peppy too, Asian so have yellow undertones already so a self-tanning product has to look natural without making us look orange like an Oompa Loompa !!!! (SCARY!!)
I've tried the Dior Bronze self tanner which worked well in tone, but it was just 'so-so'. I'm a little hesitant to go bronze as you can see, it's always easier to already have a bit of a natural tan from an island holiday to then work up a colour (little margin for error as you're already dark) but I'm a bit nervy about starting from scratch on fake self tanners....
What's the best formula that you ladies prefer? Srays, mousses, gels, or lotion ??
I am so curious about the L'oreal Sublime towlettes too!! LisaAnne, are you the same skintone as me? |

I've found that the 'Tantowel' is the only one that works for me so far, it's also a towelette like the Loreal one and there are no streaks and it's really natural looking on my skin.
So far I'd say I prefer the towelettes, with lotion coming in second. For me, the mousse dries too quickly and I am not coordinated enough to prevent streaking. |

Hi there, I am very pale and depend on self tan year round to get a healthy glow. I need to use quite a dark formula to get any colour at all and I have tried many different formulation and brands. These are some of my personal favorites:
1. Rodial Instant Self Tanning Gel - for great ingredients, they use no synthetic colours, and best result in terms of both colour and feel of the skin. It contains moisturizing ingredients.
2. Sun Labs - for easy application, beautiful almond smell and even, dark colour.
3. St Tropez Mousse or Lotion - for great colour on the body, however, this sits in the pores on my face.
4. Make Believe Night Time Facial Self Tan Moisturiser - this is a wonderful gradual tan which works well in between applications of the more heavy duty self tans, especially because my tan always fades on my face first due to my elaborate cleansing routine.
5. Green People - good colour and all natural ingredients. The most natural and organic of the bunch. |

I starting using self-tanners in 2001 after having melanoma surgery. My skin is very sensitive to topical products, and I try to use the least chemicals possible. Anyway, I have been using Liz Earle botanical self-tan spray and I love it. |

I have not tried this one, but might give it a go because I like Liz Earle and sprays are so quick to use. Thanks for the recommendation. |
