I have been a big fan of Janson Beckett products for several years. Within the past six months I discovered JB's Sun Block Daytime Moisturizer. I absolutely love this product! IMO this is one of Janson Beckett's hidden gems. It can be used daily on its own or over a regular skin care routine. Personally, I use it on its own early in the morning before my long walks or over Vit C, Mineral Prep and AlphaDermaCE.

Most sun protection I shy away from as they are heavy and clog pores. JB's UVA/UVB 40 is light yet moisturizing. As with ADCE no fragrance can be detected. I have even got my husband to use it (miracle in itself).

The only thing I do not like about this product is the one ounce size. Being spoiled with AlphaDerma and Mineral Prep in 4oz., this one ounce is disappointing. In saying that this product last a very long time. Like AlphaDerma, you only need a very small amount to cover your whole face and neck. Using it once a day it lasts me approximately 45 days.

I will continue using this lovely day cream as it is one of the best sunscreens used to date. For all that use AlphaDerma this product compliments it beautifully. With my EDS discount or JB's sales this product will be a skin care staple.

Thanks for this review Winnie!
I'm also a JB fan and have wondered about this day cream. I'm glad to hear that it's moisturizing. I'll probably order this when I finish all the day creams I currently have. Embarassed

Too bad they don't make a sunblock that DOESN'T contain moisturizers. Ladies with oily skin still need sunblock but we don't need the additional moisturizers; hopefully more cosmetics companies will learn to understand this.

Winnie, does using only a tiny amount offer you adequate UVA protection, don't you need to use at least 1/2 tsp. to obtain the protection specified on the label?

athena,

I walk two miles a day. Like AlphaDermaCE, a tiny amount of this sunscreen adequately protects me. I have a medium color to my complexion with pink undertones.

Next time you order your JB products you should ask for a sample. My skin tends to be oily (T zone) in the summer months. I have used JB's sunscreen most of the summer and had no problems.

Winnie,

I'm looking for a sunscreen for my boyfriend and this one sounds really interesting. He's got really oily skin and will not use both a moisturizer and a sunscreen, so I'm searching for a sunscreen that also works as a moisturizer. However, many I've come across seem to be too greasy for his liking. Would you say it suits someone with really oily skin if used on its own (without a moisturizer underneath)? Also, do you find it easy to remove with a normal face cleanser? I have to ask as if it is hard to remove, it'll be hard to get my boyfriend to use a cleansing oil or balm on a daily basis! I'm currently considering this sunscreen and Devita SPF 30 Moisturizer as from what I've heard it's also very light.

JB's sunscreen is not greasy at all and extremely easily to remove. Believe me, my DH would not use any greasy, complicated product. Rolling Eyes

Here is JB's write up on this product:

Quote:
Description:
Janson Beckett’s Sun Block Daytime Moisturizer with SPF40 help’s you prevent skin aging and safeguard your youthful appearance.

Our light silky moisturizer goes on smooth, absorbs quickly, and almost feels like you’re wearing nothing as it protects against the damage caused by the sun and environment. It’s smart to always protect your skin when outdoors even briefly. But suntan lotions are often heavy and greasy and are generally poor moisturizers.

Our Sun Block Daytime Moisturizer is the perfect light, greaseless moisturizer for the face and neck. Our non-oily formula moisturizes and shields your skin with concentrated UVA and UVB additives providing a rating of SPF 40.

Winnie - Thanks for your reply. Next time I place an order with EDS, I'm gonna ask for a sample of it and see how my boyfriend likes it. He's so picky and it's not like it's hard enough to get him to use ANY skincare products at all. Rolling Eyes

Can you tell us what other sunscreens you've tried and what other ones have you been impressed with? Thank you. Smile

Does this day cream has a PA value? SPF is only the scale to measure the UVB, but the UVB is much more important.

My mum like JB product, but this line do not have two kinds of products that she really needs, one is the sunscreen, and the other is the eye cream. Only eye serum seems not moist enough for eyes.
