I thought I'd ask everyone here this question because I am fresh out of ideas! A girl I work with has quite a bit of milia on her face, mostly on her cheek bones. She was tried everything I've suggested to her, using a lighter moisturizer, do microdermabrasion and when that didn't work, using 10% glycolic acid peels. Is there anything else she can try or is it just a waiting game now? |

I have been meaning to post my "discovery" and that is that I was using an IS Clinical Active Serum sample from EDS and some of it happened to go on the 3 or 4 milia under my eye. This serum really raised them up, sort of made them appear above the skin and I was hoping this would make them go away. This did not happen, but now they would be in really good position to prick them with a sterilized/boiled needle and squeeze out the tiny pearly thing that's in there. Since it's so close to the eye, I'm still afraid to do it, but maybe I will get up the courage soon. If they were other than in that area of such delicate skin, I would do it in a flash. In fact, after the IS Active treatment I got rid of one small one under my eye, but the other 3 are still there. Please share, if anyone has any good ideas as to how to proceed. |

No oils of any kind, they make moisturizers without oils, a good one is olay total effects x7, fragrance free. Most importantly, a glycolic moisturizer at night of at least 8%, no more than this percentage, until the face gets adjusted to it. Tell her, to use it every 2 days, use once, skip two days, for one week. then 3 days a week, then until her face has adjusted to it. If her face can handle it, use a glycolic, salicylic acid acid wash cleanser of 2%, just about a dime size worth, no more, more is not better. Moisturize with a non oil mositurizer after cleansing. face may get dry, so get the oil free moisturizer. No mineral oil of any kind. She should start seeing a reduction of milia, tell her to keep using it, it might not seem to be working, but it will. Hope this helps. My friend had it and by golly that worked for her. That's what her derm told her to use. Good luck to your friend. |
