I got a pimple on my nose, right smack in the center a long time ago after being forced to wear makeup for a play. I tried popping it and fluid came out and I left it alone. It wasn't red anymore but remained a small bump on my nose the same color as my skin. When I don't wash my face the light hits it and makes it noticeable because of the oil. Occasionally it flares up and I'll either pop it or leave it alone. It doesn't go away, though. I saw a dermatologist about it but he told me it was a cyst and said it should work itself out in time. He injected cortisone and it didn't do anything. It's been a few years now and I would like to get rid of it in some way. Is there anything I can do? (I don't know if i believe that its a cyst. I looked up what they look like and it looks nothing like the pictures that I've seen. mine is a very small bump about half the diameter of an eraser on a pencil and is raised up only very slightly)
Thanks, hope someone can help me |

A few years!? That can't be just a pimple. Maybe you should go back the the dr. Meanwhile, try hot compresses and a clay mask to dry it up. The proactiv mask is the best for this.
Are you sure it's not just scar tissue at this point, or are you sure there's still some infection? Does it hurt ever? |

Yep, this definitely sounds like more than a pimple. The sebaceous cyst theory sounds about right, but if it hasn't gone away yet, it's probably not going to on its own. I too think you should go back to a derm. If you look up "sebaceous cyst" on the EDS forums, you'll find a couple other people who have had this issue, and the many responses they received -- something may be able to help you out. Good luck! |

Try a blemish clearing serum from JB. I've always had good results from using this. |

A few YEARS?? That can't be good... Pimples or even cysts won't ever last longer than a few weeks, period!!
Talk to your derm again about this. I don't want to scare you but this doesn't sound that much like just a pimple... Could be a skin condition? |

I've had bumps like that where it seems like a pimple but then never really comes to the surface and I ended up going to get a facial and my facialist was able to extract it. The spot was a little tender for a few days, but it worked and it never came back. If you're leery of seeing a doc, try to find a good facialist in your area. It might work and if it doesn't, the rest of your face will be happier anyway. |

A couple years, that is not a good sign. If your Derm is correct and it is a cyst, you should have them extract it for you. If it keeps flaring up, it could be scar tissue, which you would have them remove. A pimple should not last more than a week, and a cyst usually takes a couple weeks to maybe a few months. |
