I'm looking for a cleanser that can remove makeup AND sunscreen effectively without drying the skin. I know many of u said that oil cleanser will effectively remove makeup & sunscreen but I tried Decleor before and I broke out from it as it contains too much essential oils. So are there any cleansers out there that contains NO OIL? I have combination and sensitive skin. I break out easily too. If someone has similar skin like mine, what do u usually use? Thanks!! Very Happy

I use Cetaphil, which I buy at the drugstore. I've been using it for (gulp!) 15 years at the recommendation of a dermatologist. It's very mild and yet does a great job of removing makeup and sunscreen. I'll add other products around it (I just started using Dr. H), but I'll never give up my Cetaphil.

Cetaphil
I second this, but only to remove light makeup. It's too gentle to remove most foundations and eye makeup.

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Rates highly in my books. Just re-purchased this. It's similar to Cetaphil, soap-free but removes everything and doesn't leave the skin uncomfortable (and I have dry skin).

If you do not wear heavy make up, Sothys' beauty cleansing milk could be a good choice.

Thank you so much for u ladies replies Smile I'm currently using Sothy's Normalising Beauty Milk and it removes my MMU quite nicely. But I just worried that if I'm to use a waterproof ss, then it may not be good enough to remove it off completely. I heard that most ppl break out from using ss is cuz they didn't remove the ss off properly. So I'm very concerned regarding this.

if you use a waterproof sunscreen it is best to use an oil cleanser followed by your regular cleanser. by "oil" cleanser,i mean a product which feels oily when applied to the skin and it emulsifies completely with both oil (and non hydrophilic ingredients) and water.

i have tried various japanese drugstore brands (offshoots of kanebo/kose etc) and they are excellent for removing my sofina lucent and nia mineral ss which are high in silicon content and do not come off with any amount of cleanser.

A cheap one - Nivea Refreshing Cleansing Lotion. It even removes Japanese sunscreen.

For me, I find the Cetaphil is not enough to remove the makeup nor the sunscreen but I have been using it for the past 2 yrs just because my skin is so sensitive and everything else tends to dry it out... but I have discovered something... the clarisonic facial brush! It's amazing and it does remove all the makeup and sunscreen. I cannot rave enough about it. Sorry but this is certainly not a cheap solution though...

For me, I think the best things are my microfiber cloth (removes all makeup and SS) and then for my cleanser I use the pink nano soap. This had such great reviews that I had to try it and I'm so glad I did. I've been using it for a few months, and I hope I don't jinx it, but my skin has never looked better.

I really like Clarins Purifying Cleanser. It is not too drying but effectively removes make-up and sunscreen.

I'm now using grapeseed oil to remove m/u but especially my s/s. Then I wash my face w/ my hands and a PH 5.5 cleanser, then I use my Clarisonic for a couple of minutes. Yes it's longer than when I was younger, but my skin feels really clean and pure when I'm finished.

I started doing this when I read in one of the recent threads that you first have to REMOVE your m/u and s/s, and then CLEANSE your skin. It just made sense to me.

I have used both the dermalogica pre-clense and Laventine cleansing oil and had good results. The pre-cleanse feels more like a dry-oil and I always follow up with another cleanser. I often reach for the laventine though when I am tired or just lazy because it is a one step process and works just as well.

Oil cleansing method or OCM. You can do a search for some recommended ingredients. This has helped to also keep my pores clean.

My friend recommended me a cleansing gel from Shiseido which helps to wash away high-protection water-resistant sunscreens and long-lasting foundations.
