I hope this is the right place to put forward this query. I've read the reviews of Lips2Kiss Lip System and also the thread about Favourite Lip Balms. I don't think I could endure the peeling process of Lips2Kiss and, in truth, I don't feel I need it (yet!) - no lines around the lips, etc. But I am a bit concerned to have surmised that chapstick and petroleum/parrafin-based balms could be doing more harm than good. I wear lipstick during the day, and like to use Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream at night.
So, my questions: is it correct that the petroleum jelly-type products are in fact NOT good for our lips? And, if so, what is recommended for those of us too chicken/not yet ready for something as drastic as Lips2Kiss?
Thanks for any advice/suggestions. |

Petroleum Jelly is an Oil byproduct, it comes from the oil we put in our cars! I am not an expert but I'm sure this is neither moisturizing or good for lips. I would just buy stuff without it. Organic products won't have and Dr Haushka one is nice. |

There is a "chapstick" called Un-petroleum that you may buy at health stores. I bought mine at GNC. It contains more healthy humectants. You could also just moisten the lips with a hyaluronic rich moisturizer that you use on your face. I apply Chrystalx (from Epidermx) at night and my lips just soak it in!

The thing is, according to L2K system, beeswax, and waxes in general are also something harming.
It is easy to find a product without petroleum but not as easy to find one without beeswax. |

I'm curious: what/where exactly is the proof of this? Harmful, how? By doing what? |
