I've seen these at Macy's and Kohl's, and was wondering if anyone's tried them? Are they softer or more absorbent than regular towels? |

Yes Indoo these towels are fantastic for drying hair. They absorb water in half the time of a regular towel. |

Do either of you have a link, on the Macy's or Kohl's site? I would love to check them out. |

Is microcotton the same as microfiber? |

I use one that is meant for wrapping wet hair in a turban style, it has a button on one end and a loop on the other to keep it in place. Sometimes I wet the towel and put it in the mircowave then I wrap my wet hair with conditioner on it to help the conditioner soak in, Works great! |

Athena, My understanding is that microcotton is just that: cotton. Microfiber is synthetic, like polyester/polyamide.
I tried a number of different microcotton towels from BBB, but the best ones IMO are from Penney's HOME Collection labelled "Entice". They are really lightweight, but thick and fluffy and superabsorbent. They dry me off quickly and then dry out quickly when I hang them on the rack. The dobby borders do not pucker badly like the others after washing - they stay nice and flat. Quite economical too; I think I paid $10 for a large bathtowel on sale.
The microfiber ones are nice for drying hair, but too thin for drying body, I think. |
