Anyone else dreading this like I am? It is just such a big task because we have soooo many decorations. Putting them up isn't nearly as much of a chore as taking them down. It also means that the season is over, which makes me sad. However, I won't be sad to get rid of the tree. As pretty as it is, it is dropping needles like crazy and I have been vacuuming them up daily. Thankfully, my Oreck is lightweight and does a great job, but that is one daily chore that I will be happy to get rid of!

I agree with you. Its horrid to take everything down. Over time I've reduced Xmas decorating to a small tree with few ornaments, 1 wreath on my front door and colored balls in a bowl on my coffee table. Thats it. Maybe next year you'll do the same??

Hi

What kind of tree do you have? For future ref if you can get a Nordmann they don't drop their needles, mine is still going strong and looking lovely, although it is sad that the tree grows for around 10 years, then they're cut down to be in my house 2-3 weeks before being ditched!

Oh yes! We have a real tree in the living room and little fake ones in other rooms. That's a lot of decorations! Laughing

I got a reprieve this year..

Hubby + I took the whole family away to Disney World for vacation over Christmas this year. So I only have the bare minimum of decorations to contend with to take down next week.

I'm so glad I took it easy this year..... Smile

Happy New Year to all!

Kassy

Kassy_A we're thinking of doing that next year. Does Disney get really, really busy? What's the wait line times?

TIA

Now that the kids are gone I leave mine up till I feel like taking them down! I like having the lights and cheer this dark time of year.

Christmas Day at "Magic Kingdom" was sheer bedlam. The average wait time was 90 to 120 minutes, but we exercised the option to swipe the ticket and return at a prearranged time with NO waiting.. But just trying to navigate through the crowds was tough going.

The other theme parks were less busy, with wait times approx. 30 to 45 minutes.

It's a wonderful place to spend Christmas. In a word, it was "magical". It brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion. The week just sped by, with so much to see and do.
