I am new to this forum and would like advice on a good skin care line. My skin is very dry, especially in the winter (I live in Minnesota), but I get breakouts on my chin. Not the big red kind, just the small blackheads. I have been using Dr. Hauschka for 3 months, and it doesn't seem to hydrate me enough. I had to stop using the facial toner after a couple weeks because it left my skin too dry and tight. I now use Loreal Hydrafresh toner just because it was the only one I could find at the drug store that didn't contain alcohol. It seems to work okay and at least not dry me out. I use the Dr. H cleansing cream and quince day cream mixed with normalizing day oil. That seems to work okay - but I have seen no improvements and still feel fairly dry. Especially over night when I only apply toner and no cream as Dr. H suggests. I love the "holistic" concept of Dr. H, but I am willing to change to a different skin care line if anyone has any suggestions! I feel like if I go to a spa for suggestions, they will just recommend from their one featured line, so I appreciate all the product lines that this forum covers! |

In the winter I also need extra moisture. Dr. H has great products. I suggest that you try a few things before changing products. A humidifier in you bedroom at night can help hydrate your skin. Perhaps you need to add some moisture under your Dr. H products. I find Emu oil in a tiny amount as a base helps me a great deal. I use Dremu as it is light and triple refined. Try to drink 8 glasses of water a day.
One of the best masks I have used for hydration is Decleor Hydra Floral "Flower Essence" Moisturizing Mask. I do give myself some sort of mask once a week. If I am particularly dry I use a light layer of Decleor Hydra Flora before bed. In the morning my face feels lovely.
If you are tempted to change lines consider one of the many starter kits EDS sells. What works for other might not be what you are looking for. The starters have enough products for at least a week. Try before buying full size products.
Good luck and welcome. |

Do you use any moisturizer at night or do you stick w/the belief of Dr. Hauska at letting our face "rest" at night?
Thank you,

I haven't been using a moisturizer at night. I've been trying to follow the Dr H recommendations. Maybe I should try moisturizing? Thanks for your help! |

I have same problem as you, my skin are extremely dry. I am now using HA serum, night cream and also EMU oil, my skin feel better at summer, but for winter, I need to re-apply moisturizer every 4-6 hours~ I found out many positive rave about phytomer at MUA and have ordered yesterday, hope this line will help my dehydrated skin~
By the way, I think you need a hydrated mask, I use hydrated mask every 2 day! |
