Great tips gals. I happen to have the same hair type...I am a firm believer in hormonal hair change. My hair is very thick and I had stick straight hair my whole life up until about 4 years after the birth of my second child. Not sure what caused the curl to pop out at that time but I had a horrible hair cut at about 28 years of age. Luckily I had a friend who happened to be a hair stylist and she literally had to cut my hair super short to look half way decent. It was after she cut my hair it grew back curly...yes, odd story but very true. I am now nearly 39 and still have these great wavy, spiral curls. What I have always done to keep my hair soft and curly was apply gel or mousse while my hair is wet, directly after I spray with hairspray and scrunch a bit with my hands...I don't touch it after and I let it air dry. I never, never, never use a hair dryer...ever. It dries quite crispy (I know, sounds a bit unconventional) but after it has fully air dried in to hard waves, I can then use my fingers to work out the crispness, add a few curls with the curling iron and finish with a glossing cream. Voila! I have soft, frizzless waves and curls....
My hair is one of my most complimented features. I also believe taking the MSM and hyaluronic acid supplements helps as well... |
