There are several places in Ontario that offer sugar waxing but none here and one in Victoria but they charge extra for something that costs them less. Why aren't spas offering it especially if they brag about all the natural skincare they are offering.
Sugar wax requires no heating, no strips, has no chemicals (check labels, some brands add stuff in it) and does not stick to the skin. Its the ultimate if you are trying to go "green".
I have been doing it myself but I would like to to to a spa every once in awhile. Gals, demand it of your fave spa! |

Its at every spa here in TX and now at many nail salons! I really like sugaring but have recently discovered an at home wax kit that works better than any other hair removal method, and costs a fraction of a trip to the spa. Im going to start doing all my own waxing and yes, I do mean it ALL! |

Hi Vonstella, What is the at home wax kit that you have discovered? Sometimes with my hectic schedule, it's so hard getting into the spa and waxing at home might be just what I need. Thx! |

Cool! I will definitely be looking for your review. Meanwhile, I'll head on over to Ulta at lunch and pick up a kit. |

The one reason I can think of as to why spas don't offer sugaring is that a truly good textured sugar wax is incredibly hard to create, and I think it must be a fresh batch used every time as the ingredients do not store well. It would definitely be a hassle to create a new batch big enough for the whole day's clients.
I have found a brand called Andrea hard wax, it is meant for brazillians, but would work for anywhere on the body. Basically it dries clean and hard on the skin and requires no wax strips, you just pull the wax off and only the hair is removed, no pulling on the skin (provided you oil up beforehand). |

I guess so but there are several companies that make sugar wax for professional use. MOOM, Sukar, Cleopatra's Secret, and I believe Alexandria has a pro line. I think its just the attitude has got to change. |
