Next week I'm starting a series of Biophora Lactic Peels. They are geared towards sensitive (my kind) or dry skin. My derm wants me to use Biophora brand products between the peels because he knows everything about them. That makes sense to me - he does have more control over the outcome then. But he does sell the line at his office.......... To be fair I have tried the cleanser, toner & the day & night moisturizer & they seem to be alright. Not what I'm used to (my Alphaderma CE & Valmont) but okay. The price is very reasonable. Am I trying to make this work or does it make sense to anyone else too. I'm not at all concerned about the peel series - I've gone to him for a long time.

Is there anything special about this line that differentiates it from others? I mean, in terms of ingredients or concentration?

If I were in your position then I would go ahead and try them if (a) I knew the derm was a pretty good/honest one, and (b) I liked the products. I think if I wasn't overly impressed with the products then I would try to find a similar alternative.

Come to think of it, I would probably ask the derm? I.e. "I'm not too pleased with this night cream, is there another brand you might recommend?" If he/she starts to really push their products then I'm not buying. If they do actually give other recs then I might buy their product. Does that make sense?

That's good advice, Mabsy. I do trust the doc & the line (I've used it for a week now - 100% guarantee) & it's okay. In fact sometimes when I think about it, it's so simple - cleanse, tone, moisturize - that I do believe that it's giving my skin a "break". I don't know if I'll return anything but I also don't know it I will purchase again. Maybe the cleanser & toner. The products are quite popular with the derms in Toronto & it's a Canadian Company (maybe they all own a piece of it....I am SUCH a SKEPTIC). I try to support Canadian stuff when I can but this is a first with skincare - he also has the Vivier vitamin c products & I see them recommended quite often in the forums here at EDS.
P.S. I'm re-reading The Thorn Birds & I can hardly put it down. What a country!!!

Laughing I'm a sceptic too. Sometimes I wish I was a much bigger sceptic because that would probably save me some money. I just spent $160 on MAC brushes purely after reading some reviews on MUA. I need something to hold me back!!!! Confused

I must say I don't really ever look at where a particular product is made but I do like the Vivier serum 10 and 20. I haven't tried anything else from Vivier at this stage.
