I was finally able to watch the video clip on my PC. It surely looks easy when the woman is working with the Vaculift. And her skin looks great for her age (53)!
She told that you are supposed to cleanse the face and then apply oil before you go to work with the Vaculift. I intend to use the Vaculift as part of oil cleansing method. I would not think it should be necessary to cleanse the face beforehand, or what do you think?
BTW, the vaculifting in the bust area sounds promising. Maybe it can promote some lifting effect? |

I'm using the Vaculifter with OCM and I'm not cleansing before that - it's not necessary. However, I am using it in the morning rather than in the evening when I'm removing makeup.
I don't have any breasts to lift - maybe I can suck 'em up bigger! |

We really do have expectations to this little plastic device. |

My thoughts are actually that I would cleanse the skin separately. Why? I think the vacuum suction actually helps the oil absorb into your skin. If your skin isn't already clean it might lead to problems (i.e., breakouts). I might be wrong but this is my intuition.
If you remember the part of the video where she goes over cleaning the cups and the importance as any gunk could be reintroduced into the skin. |

You took the words right out of my mouth!
I think it's best to do the cupping with only the 'beneficial' oils, on a cleansed face. (I wouldn't want castor oil repeatedly absorbed into my skin, because I think it would cause congestion after a while.)
I have a question for you guys. When doing the legs and hiney for cellulite, is it okay to go up and down, or should I just be going upward? |

Hi, Everyone, Have any of you tried the "pistol pump" cupping device?
Thank you! |

Pistol pump will not work for cupping massage where you drag the cups because you can not vary the pressure (as far as I know) but will work for traditional cupping. |

Actually you can. If you are not talking about the extractor (Even with that you can adjust pressure by not doing a full push)
I have two different pumps, both manual and I have use them with my kit of cupping for facial massage.
They both work and you can adjust pressure.
I previously posted a link to my long post on FE boards but in case you want to check out what I am talking about here it is again:

Thanks, Zenity. That's good to know. I definitely have no problem being corrected I think we're all newbies to the process. I'll check out your FE post in a bit. Can I go on the board if I'm "not a member"?
FYI - for others looking to purchase - I recently got the vaculifters and have to say the edges on them are much smoother than the facial cupping kit cups. I think if I was going to buy cups for the face, in the future I would try to get ones that are glass. Also, glass would hold up to essential oils better if you were using a blend with your carrier oil. I remember the site saying at the bottom that they were going to come out with a glass facial cupping kit soon:

That was a while ago... Anyone have an update on this? (BTW, I just shot off an email to them enquiring). |

I used camellia oil with a couple drops of EO added to it. Also rosehip, and going to try a couple other oils, such as almond etc. I think any thin oil would work. |

On the first page of this thread there is a post from Elini who first brought the Vaculifter to our attention (and started all our lemming!) She states that she's been using the Vaculifter with OCM for 5 years with very positive results:
I“ve been "cupping" every morning in the last 5 years and it gave me back 10 years. You use it with oil and for me it“s part of the OCM in the morning. It tightens pores, cleans them out and fights sagging skin. Some independent tests proved that it visibly reversed lines around the mouth and between the eyes. Sounds odd, but cupping is very popular in Germany.
(I often think: my gosh, give Mrs. Merkel a Vaculifter!!! )
Of course, it's a personal choice and the use of any kind of oil is ok. However, if you are into OCM it's a wonderful tool to use along with it. But then again, I don't have any issues with castor oil. |

Mpstat; the camelia and almond oil sound wonderful. I read so much here about rosehip oil, but forget which skin type it's for...Can't remember if it does best for normal or dry skin.. I agree that any thin oil would work also. I think the most important thing is that it's pure, without preservatives or added fragrance.
Keliu; I did a cupping tonight, a good while after cleansing and moisturizing. Long story short is that all of the moisturizer I had put on, was in the cup when I had finished cupping.
After seeing that, I agree with you that cupping in conjunction with OCM is fine and dandy. It's also making me believe that cupping does not at all, help with product penetration, but does just the opposite.
Does anybody have advice on cupping for the legs + butt? In particular, whether it's advisable to just go up, or does it matter if one goes up and down?

I am using the vaculift body size and working on the thighs. I have been on a mission to rid myself of the nasty cellulite. The larger body size is very good for full suction to deal with the cellulite and it has much more suction than the face one. As far as technique I am just doing what she does on the video. I try to finish with all stokes towards the heart like the dry brushing method. This is my third week of working on the thighs and I can really tell a difference. I use the vaculift oil for the face with the face vaculift and almond oil on the body with the body vaculift.I am sure there are techniques that the massage therapist use for the legs especially dealing with cellulite. Maybe we will get someone to share it.

It makes sense to have the strokes go toward the heart. I'm just always looking for the easy way out.. |

I completely agree. The reason for applying the oil is really to create slip and I definitely wouldn't apply a moisturizer first. After all, it's called a Vaculifter - the operative part of the word being "vacuum" - it sucks the living daylights out of my skin! |

So true.
I wonder why the women in the video mentioned it helping products to penetrate... Or maybe I misunderstood her.
Perhaps the message should be that the cupping gets the skin in optimum condition, to allow better absorption of products. |

Dang now I have to get one of these too!
I am confused as to what to get though. I am not that worried about my body area as I am quite toned but I would definitely used it on my upper arm. So Face 1 and face 2 might be the best option?
Also use say a few drops ofrosehip oil mixed with Avocado or EVO? |

Based on what I have experienced it DOES help products penetrate.
Regardless of what type of lotion/oil do you use to make glide the cups on your skin while suctioning, what I apply once I am done with the suction it literally gets soaked in my skin.
I think that we should make a difference between what we use as a lubricating agent and what we use as treatment after performing the facial massage. Even lubricating agents can be beneficial for our skin, I really see them as agents to facilitate my work with the cups. The treatment itself is the suction massage. Once I have finished the treatment is whatever product I do apply on my face.
Does that make sense to you? |

It makes perfectly sense to me. The suctioning is for cleansing/firming/massaging. It prepares the skin for better absorption of the products you apply post-suctioning.
I don't want to use an expensive oil when treating my body with the Vaculift. I have some cold-pressed sunflower oil from the health food store and wonder if it can be suitable? I have ordered the small face and the small body from NCN and have to be prepared prior to their arrival... |

I have an update. Thewww.massagecupping.com/equipmentandproducts.htm site is not going to carry a glass facial cupping kit. They are happy with the plastic kit for the face.
They do offer a glass Baguanfa Bell Cups in a set of 3 cups - .8" , 1.2" and 2" (2, 3 and 4 cm) $40.
They are offering a new smaller glass cup (20mm) for $7 - if you want it, add it to your order form.
From their response:
Quote: |
We have added a small glass cup to our Deluxe Face Kit which is great for general work on the face. Anita does still suggest the plastic cups for refined work on the face. The size of the new glass cup is 20mm.
This new glass cup is available for $7 plus shipping & may be ordered either by fax or by mail. It is a new item for us & is not yet on our website. |

Septembergirl, I think you are going to love your vaculifters I got the small face and small body ones and am happy with my size selections.
I think you will be fine with any cold-pressed oil that gives good slip. The sunflower oil should be fine. |

I noticed on several sites they advertise "Magentic" cups. Does anybody know exactly what the difference is to the plain cups? And in what way are they beneficial?
