As titled... Many of us are so~ into skincare that it's starting to cut into our quality time. I find it quite stressful and tiring doing that every morning & night. My bf who I occasionally sleep over at is getting quite annoyed that it's taking me forever to get ready in the morning to go out or at night to sleep. I do find it quite embarrasing too.

For me, I need a good one hr for everything in the morning & 40-45mins at night. But let me tell u that I don't do much. I admit that I'm very slow so I was hoping that u all nice ladies here can help me out in cutting down the time that I deal with my skin... Confused

AM
-brush my teeth (5mins)
-wash my face with cleanser & then with toner (6-10mins)
-apply eye cream (2mins)
-apply moisturizer with SPF 30 (7-8mins)
-get dressed (5mins)
-put in my contacts (3mins)
-apply pearl paste on my nose only (2 mins)
-apply under eye concealer (5-7mins)
-apply MMU (10mins)
** those're approx. estimated time, sometimes I took longer **

PM
-brush my teeth (5mins)
-removed my MU with cleansing milk (5-7mins)
-exfoliate with my wash cloth & rinse my face with water (7-10mins)
-shower (10mins) If wash my hair (20-25mins)
-apply eye cream (2mins)
-moisturize my face (7-8mins)
** those're approx. time too **

So ladies, how long does it all take u to get ready both in the morning and at nite? Do u think I'm reasonable or I'm really so~ slow?? If so, are there any ways to speed things up for me? Any techniques? I do feel I'm the slowest person on earth... Sad

Oh, I can totally relate! I just started this thread myself because I can feel really overwhelmed with the whole process. The main thing I've started doing is moving my nightly skin care routine a bit earlier, so I don't do it right before I go to bed. In fact, I'm off to do it now! Laughing

Well, I take a bit of time but I try to rush. Since I have to go to work in the morning I always try to sleep as much as I can.

AM:
>Shower 15 Min.
(Shampoo Hair 4-5 Min?, Condition hair and brush teeth while being conditioned 3 Min, Wash body 3 Min, Hm what else? Etc.)
>Tone and moisturize 2-3 Min
>Get dressed 2-3 Min
>Apply concealer 2-3 Min
>Apply MMU 3-4 Min
>Apply a tinge of blush on cheeks 20-30 Seconds
>Apply a tad of finishing powder on t-zones 20 seconds
>Curl eyelashes and sometimes apply mascara 1-2 Min
>Dry Hair 5 Min

PM:
>Shower 15-20 Min
>Mini face treatment 5 Min
>Rinse face 20 Seconds
>Tone 20 Seconds
<Sometimes apply moisturizer to face or rejuvenating mask

Night ritual is pretty fast. Shock When I write it down it feels like I'm wearing so much makeup or something Sad Haha

It takes me 2 hours to get ready in the morning, if I have a shower. I only need to wash my hair every other day so on the non wash days it takes me 1.5 hours. At night I take about 30 min to remove makeup, wash face, brush teeth, heat lips.

You ladies are speed demons compared to me! It takes me at least an hour to 1.5 hours to get ready every morning Embarassed It has always taken me forever to get ready for the day. My husband is used to it and never really gives me a hard time about it.

At night I need about 30 minutes (Not too bad in my book Very Happy )

Sorry no advice...just another slowpoke over here.

I guess I'm not too slow afterall hehe Very Happy

as for my bf complaining, I guess he's impatient!! He's comparing how long he takes to get ready to me... He said it takes him about 15-20mins to get ready and it takes me forever to do it Embarassed

well, I guess for those girls that can leave the house within 1/2 an hr, perhaps they don't do makeup??

I feel stressed doing this every morning and every nite...I feel that all I do is spend my time in the washroom haha Confused when I could have do other stuff...well, at least that's wat my bf and my sis think...

it takes me a little more than an hr to get ready to go to work in the morning, and thats a minimal makeup application; i usually wear light/neutral toned stuff for work, plus i wear my glasses so i dont have to worry abt mascara or curling eyelashes or anything.
if getting ready to go out on the weekends/evenings though it can take 1.5-2 hrs- SO embarrassing, lately im always running late because i underestimate how long it takes to get ready -_-

I have no clue how much time each individual step takes but this is what I do and how much it takes:

AM - 1 hour
- shower + wash hair (every other day) + massage with some anti-cellulite stuff
- dry my skin
- rub a lot of body lotion all over my body
- make coffee
- apply: eye cream, face moisturizer
- apply make up: silk/pearl powder, MMU, curl eyelashes, mascara, lip routine (L2K stuff)
- quick spritz of silk/pearl powder tonic all over my face
- chose clothes
- iron clothes
- dry hair (this actually takes at least 15 mins)
- get dressed
==> 1 hour

PM - 15 mins
- remove make up (first - eyes, then - rest of the face)
- cleanse face
- brush teeth
- apply Retin A
- eye moisturizer
- lip routine (L2K)
==> 15 mins

I guess, I am not that bad Cool .

However, I remember when I was using acids - than my routines were much longer as there was always some wait time between different phases.

rubby, I'm impressed!!

It only took u 1hr in the AM to do so~ much! Shock Do u feel like u r rushing at all or u r very relaxed when u do it??

I'm trying to speed things up. For example, choose my outfit the nite b4. Have all my things ready altogether so that I don't have to look for them when I'm in a hurry the next morning.

I guess the reason I took so long in the morning is cuz I ALWAYS feel that my MU is not applied nicely enough. And I take extra care in applying them but still, it doesn't look perfect... Sad

I'm terrible about picking out outfits -- that's the part that usually makes me late. I should really try and pick them out the night before, too -- when I do that it's always a faster AM ritual!

If anything keeps me from getting out of the house quickly in th emorning, it's my hair, on the days I wash it. It's long and thick, and takes forever to dry and style. I once got it cut short thinking it would cut back on drying time but that backfired because my hair instantly rebelled. Poofs and curls all over the place...

As for skincare, I generally keep it to a minimum.

I don't mind the time at night, but I have tried to stream line my morning routine (so I can take a nap in it Laughing ). I decide what I am going to wear the night before.

1. Wash face with cleanser - 30 to 40 secs

2. Drink some water (chinese thing)

3. Put on toner/hydrasol - 10 secs

4. Put on serum/HA/oil mix - 30 secs

5. Nap for 5 mins and let the above mixture absorb

6. Put on sunscreen - 15-20 secs (including neck)

7. Get dressed, eat brekkie or do hair if the latter is being particularly atrocious. But I find if I blow dry my hair properly the night I wash it, all I need to do is clip it down in the morning since I have short-hair bedhead. Embarassed

8. Since sunscreen has absorbed I put on my foundation. If I don't have any new pimples etc, then it is just hiding some of my darker pigmentation with MMU concealer then MMU foundation on top. Around 4-5 mins.

9. Put on brow gel - 10 secs.

10. While waiting for gel to dry, pack my things to go.

11. Fill in brows with MAC brow powder - 20 to 30 secs.

12. Put on Carekate's lipbalm in Dolce Vita (loving this at the moment - pigmented and a nice sheen).

That's my normal routine - around 1 hour including brekkie of cereal + milk. If I have extra five minutes, I will do a blush and mascara.

Outfits - if I have to look fancy (wearing a suit and such) and have to be really early at work, I usually do pick my outfit the night before - just to make sure everything looks OK and is ready to wear.

As for how relaxed I am - I do try to be fast, but I am pretty relaxed. My make-up routine is pretty basic and I don't really fuss with it.

Again - if I have to look fancy, than I will spend a bit more time on my make up as well, but I do try to fit it all into an hour.

I like taking a long time to prepare for bed at night. It's my down-time, what helps me relax and get ready to sleep. I guess I take the same approach in the morning too. If I use the time as a process to wake up slowly and get out of the groggy phase then I'm happy and relaxed for the day. If I feel like I'm rushing in the morning then it follows through the rest of the day too.

I guess I do feel better after seeing that many of us girls out there take about an hr to get ready... Cool

For nighttime, I don't worry too much about it cuz I can get myself to do my stuff earier but it's just the morning...I have a hard time getting myself out of bed early to do my thing

I sometimes feel that 24hrs a day is not enough... I need 7-8hrs for sleep... My work is at 9am. It takes me about 45mins to get to work. That means I usually wake up around 7:15am to get ready but sometimes I'm still late Sad Although I took so long to prepare, I still don't feel that I'm at my best... perhaps watever I do, I still look bad Embarassed

a.m. It takes me about 1 hour and 15 minutes to take a shower, do my skincare, then my makeup, then do my hair. I would love to cut it down but I can't find a way to.

P.m. It takes me a while too, because i have to wait 30 mins. after my BHA, then 30 minutes after my retin-A then my moisturizers. So really I have an hour built in just waiting!

One hour in the morning to shower, put on skincare and makeup, and about half that time in the evening without the makeup. Baby Q takes quite a bit of time every 3rd day.
