I just want to jump in here and give some advice to the 45ish group..Cause I've been there done that, and if I could go back in time 11+ years, I'd do this::::::::

1.) sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen, every single day of my life.

2.) less is more with makeup..after a certain age, it only accentuates the negative.. Keep it simple, light foundation, lipstick, mascara....that's really all anybody needs. (I hardly ever wore makeup, and think it's part of the reason my skin is still pretty nice.)

3.) have a simple routine that is manageable for your busy lifestyle;

a.) start the day with a nice C serum, wait 10 minutes, and apply a sunscreen and simple makeup.

b.) in the evening, use a nice exfoliating cleanser, i.e. alpha hydrox foaming cleanser. Always use a nice clean face cloth, it's a great natural exfoliator used morning and evening..

c.) apply a nice good quality serum/lotion or cream (depending on your skin condition)..

Another thing to keep in mind is to never apply your night creams/lotions/serums immediately before going to bed....do it earlier in the evening, so it's all absorbed before nitey-nite.....then just before bed, splash some nice cold water on your face. (Believe me here, the older you get, the puffier you will be, if you apply your creams just before bedtime.)

Thanks for hearing me out....... Smile

http://www.janmarini.com/AgeInterventionRegenerationBooster.html I have been trying this product for a week:Jan Marini age intervention regeneration booster. I see a difference in my skin already in less than a week,my skin looks healthier and younger and radiant(especially for someone going to be 54). This is a real keeper. I had been using TNS recovery compex and Revive'(the most expensive skin care products in the world I think). Revive carries a product called Peau Magnifique for 1500 I think JM booster has the same ingredients....can be had for under 200 if you shop around. This definitely the best product I have ever used, not much info on the net about it because it is new.

After your review I could not wait any longer, and ordered it here on EDS. It is CAN200, and they applied my forum membership discount, for me it is 15% now, so it brought the price down to CAN170. Meanwhile I looked up ingredients list:

Ingredients: Deionized Water, Sunflower Oil, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Ceramides/PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Myristoyl Tetrapeptide-KA2, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-8, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Glyceryl Stearate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol (and) Butylparaben (and) Ethylparaben (and) Propylparaben (and) Methylparaben, Methylsilanol Mannuronate, Panthenol, Mango Butter, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-8, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-11, Xanthan Gum, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Allantoin, Linoleic Acid, Tocopherol, Ubiquinone, DL-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate, Japanese Green Tea (Camellia Oleifera) Leaf Extract, Telomerase Enzyme, KGF (Keratinocyte Growth Factor) Protein, EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) Protein, TGF (Transforming Growth Factor) Beta 1.

My understanding that Telomerase Enzyme is the main ingredient in the product, but it is in the end of the list, maybe just a small amount is needed... Looking forward to getting the shipment!!!

Hello mpstat:
I looked at about three sites (can't remember which) and one of them specifically said it could be used with other products - so my thinking was that I would use this product first and let it sink in for about a half hour and then go for the C afterward. I haven't recieved yet so I thought I would read what it says and then figure out the best route.

On the other hand I want this product to be able to do what it's supposed to and I certainly don't want to delay or stifle results.

I'm on a bender with the C's and the CP's - hate to give up the momentum.... Very Happy

lucyluc - thank you for the link! I see the price $175 for one, and $166 for two. Where did you get a coupon to reduce the price to $138? Thanks!

sister sweets - thanks for the response! I know that it is recommended to wait 30 min after applying vit C, but I usually do not have much time in the mornings and do not follow this advice. It would be nice to be able to apply JM Booster right after vit C. I hope they do not cancel each other.

Another member told me they had a coupon not sure how they got it I will PM and ask about it. I had read that you FIRST put the JM booster on and follow with all your other products afterwards....I just finished one bottle...it lasted exactly one week and I was able to put on a generous amount...when you get towards the end like the 6th day....prop it upside down so for the last day you can get all of it out of the bottle...you can even pop the little top off too to completely drain it.

lucyluc - thank you for the clarifications!
It sounds that one needs to apply JM Booster first, than follow with Vit C. etc. And it is enough product for one and a half month (six weeks).

Well, do not put too much make-up. Less is better. Put more moisturizer on face, neck or all over. don't forget SPF sunscreen, very very important!

I would like to know what you do to try to make yourself look younger with makeup. I think makeup many times make women look older...especially when they put on heavy eye liner and red lipstick! What do you do? I for one am very careful with foundation because it can make older women look older.I dont put it all over my face just where I need it and just a touch of it.I like alima mineral powder, also philosophy the supernatural, flawless poreless tinted spf gives a light matte look. I dont wear much eye makeup at all,and my lip color is natural with a little gloss.very careful with blush too.Would like to know your tips!

thanks lucyluc. I asumed that we over 45's have a more stringent testing programme for sunscreens than younger women, because we need something that isnt drying, that is quite elegant, and that DEFINITELY protects, because we already - most of us - have pigmentation issues and can devlop more at the drop of a hat.

I feel the same way about recommendations fopr sunscreen from women under 40 as I do about make up rec's. Beofre I hit 45 I coiuld wear any old sunscreen and not get pigmentation. Not so now. I need a Super reliable
one!!

I love the Becca mineral primer with 30+ sunscreen.
It helps keep your foundation looking good all day + with sunscreen it dows 2 jobs at once.
I think the main ingrediant is zinc but it does'nt give you that ghostly glow.

I like the Becca SPF primer also. But, I recently tried a sample of Sofina (white perfect I think is the name). I like the Sofina a lot and actually better than the Becca!

Another tip for women over 45-The clarisonic brush.I put off buying this toy for the longest time....but I finally unraveled like a cheap sweater and ordered it from EDS when my posts hit 1000 and I got a 20% discount.I save almost $40. This marvelous little brush really gets skin clean so products can absorb and makeup goes on smoother. After using the JM booster and the clarisonic my skin looks better than it has ever looked in my whole life.

For the past 10 days I used a suggestion form "How not to look old" book.
Eyeliner & mascara - Do not put a line with eyeliner, but apply just a little to the base of the upper eyelashes, directly where eyelashes grow from. And apply only to the part of the eye, from the outer corner to about 2/3 of the line (where the iris ends). Or even do not use eyeliner at all. However need to use mascara.

This suggestion resulted in practically not wearing makeup, just a little mascara on upper lashes and sometimes a touch of bluish/grayish tint at the base. And my eyes look sooo pretty!!! I did not expect anything like this....

I also ordered Clarisonic brush, and waiting for it to arrive, it is backordered with waiting time about 2 - 3 weeks.eneral, but I did use eyeliner all the time.

I have been using the clarisonic for a couple days and I really do like it...I read about it all the time for a yr but I just couldnt pull the switch,I am glad I did...I think it gets skin very clean, helps to exfoliate therefore absorbption is so much better derving the full benefit of all those expensive skin products.

Have you stopped using some products now that you use the clarisonic? I am tweeking my skin routine and thinking or odering the clarosonic. I am a little nervous that my skin routine is getting a little involved and is there a limit to what I should be doing..
thanks, Lou Confused

I love my Clarisonic - I've had it about two months. I use it on my chest also - and then use CP's in that area-
For me the clarisonic has reduced any blackheads that came from product usage - keeps pores very clean, provides exfoliation, and definitely allows the products you use to penetrate better.

I would suspect you do not need to use other exfoliators as frequently. I use my clarisonic once a day but I know many use it twice.

Hey just recieved the JM transformation! Day One here we go!
