Best moisturizing cleansers for dry/acne-prones?

Hello Everyone,
I'm having difficulty finding a moisturizing milk cleanser that won't irritate my extremely sensitive, dry in the winter, acne-prone skin! I use a cleansing oil at night, so I don't need this cleanser to remove makeup- I want something to moisturize me and cleanse me in the morning and following my oil in the evening. Almost everything stings me or breaks me out, yet I'm very prone to developing acne at the drop of a hat! In all your infinite experience, girls, what do you think I should try? All help is much appreciated!!

Cetaphil is the only thing that works for me.

When I've acne,my doctor suggest me to use cetaphil or water.
Did you use to clean with DDF Sensitive Skin Cleansing Gel?
I think DDF is a interesting brand.

In additional,I'm not sure you can use md-formulation or not.

I love the clear w/ botanical blast cleanser by Boscia -- very gentle and effective. I like the toner and the serum as well that goes with this clear Boscia line. You can get sample at Sephora. I've been using it for months and still love it a lot.

I suggest 2 I really love:
L'Occitane's Honey Floral Cleansing Jelly
and Pevonia RS2 Cleanser

The former is a gel cleanser while the latter is a milk, depends which one you prefer. I've written reviews on both, so you will find them if you do a search.

Leigh,

My skin is similar, instant acne if I am not careful. THe only cleanser that I really like is the Jurlique Balancing cleansing gel. Most milks make me break out!! This cleanser is silky, smoothing, and moisturizing to irritated skin. I have recently tried an aloe based one for sensitive skin only to quickly return to Jurlique!!!

I also have dry/acne-prone skin. The Organic Pharmacy PTEL Cleanser (Peppermint Face Wash) is amazing! Pricey, but worth it. A gentle gel cleanser that foams ever so slightly...never dries my skin out, and leaves it incredibly soft.

I love Angels on Bare Skin by LUSH for the mornings and Sweet Japanese Girl or Babyface at night. Are you using toner? That is also the key to getting every last bit off so you don't break out. I use aloe vera with a bit of essential oil.
I found eliminating all preservatives from my skincare really made a difference in reducing sensitivity and blotchiness. Adding soothing ingredients like rose, geranium and lavender also helped if you are not too sensitive to EO.

hi, i have exactly the same skin type as you. the only thing that helps me well is Dr. Hauschka. I really liked the cleansing milk. Actually, every product of theirs. Strongly suggested.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I should have followed your advice, as today on a whim I bought some Clarins milk cleanser for dry skin. It immediately burned my skin and, even though I didn't use it to remove eye mu, my eyes are still red and irritated 5 hours after cleansing. Fragrance is the 3rd or 4th ingredient on the list!!!

I wish my skin wasn't so difficult!! Some of your suggestions seem like they'd be good for me during the summer when I'm not as sensitive and dry. After reading extensive reviews I think I'll pick up some Alba Botanicals Sea Lettuce cleansing milk from Whole Foods tomorrow and see how it goes.

Does anyone use/like cleansers from Whole Foods that would be good for dry/sensitive/acne-prones? Loving the idea of using something that has minimal chemicals and potential irritants. Thanks again!

It your skin TRULY dry in the winter, or are you confusing dryness with DEHYDRATION? I ask, as many people assume that their skin is dry, when in actuality, their skin requires something HYDRATING.

Dry: flaking, invisible/minimal pores.
Dehydrated: "tight" feeling

As your skin is acne prone, I'm guessing that you have combination, sensitive skin, which becomes dehydrated during the winter. If you use products which are intended for DRY skin, you will likely break-out moreso.

Based on what you have described, I will advise the following products for your consideration.

Cleansers: B Kamins Vegetable Skin Cleanser, Eminence Eucalyptus Cleansing Concentrate, PSF Gentle Cleansing Castile, or La Roche Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser.

Moisturizers: La Roche-Posay Physiane Protective Emulsion, La Roche-Posay Toleriane Soothing Protective Cream, Sothys Immuniscience Sensitive Skin Fluid, B Kamins Redness Defying Lotion, Phytomer HydraContinue Instant Moisture Cream, or Babor Pure Day/Night Cream(s) Oily and Blemished Skin.

Acne: PSF O2 Rescue Serum.

My skin is also dry and acne prone, it's a tough world out there! I've tried an amalgamation of so many different products but eventually settled on using just one that I've had great luck with using. Nowadays I use Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser. It really cleans my face and removes legitimately all the makeup and dirt that I wouldn't want on my face overnight. Not having to use soap and water is also a major plus because of my dry skin, soap and water just dry it out more. The Albolene cleanser always leaves my face feeling clean and deeply moisturized. It almost feels like a bit of residue is left after using it but that is what moisturizes and continues to moisturize after application.

Try to check out this on web "LAM DEEP CLEANSING CREAM" It is a highly recommended skin care product for oily, acneic skin.

I found that Luzern Pure Cleansing Gelee to be particularly wonderful for acne-prone and dry skin. It is one of the few cleanser that I found to be particularly gentle and not in the slightest bit drying, but at the same time has White Willow Bark Extract which I believe to be mildly exfoliating and anti-bacterial. I love it and highly recommend it. Smile

Oily, sensitive or flaky skin(like me) are hardest to maintain resulting a lot of trouble when shopping for makeup/skincare. Now, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is something I have been waiting for like forever! Once a skin care specialist recommended it to me and now I am a sucker for this skin cleanser. Bad Grin

I too have sensitive, oily, acne prone and dry skin.. I find that rose water really helps neutralize skin problems and adds moisture. I hope this helps

Ok. Acne skin must balance pH.

There is only one product bar none for this.

You would either go with P50 OLD FORMULA which has phenol and will tingle or burn but will do no harm. Or one of the more modern formulas.

Claridad Glycolic Face Wash is my favorite moisturizing cleanser because it helps a lot to reduce the appearance of acne scars and is good for all skin types.
