I'm looking for a good quality deodorant with fairly natural ingredients that actually WORKS.
Any suggestions?

The only ones I found to be effective is the LAFE brand of mieral salt based formulas. They work really well, and there is no evil chemicals, and no BO!!! |

I use Crystal Body Rock (the twist up kind). The key is to apply it correctly. Apply it right after shower and swipe it all over your under arm about 60-80 times. Just count 1-80 quickly. I can guarantee that you will not smell. It works so well. You may still sweat, but your sweat doesn't smell at all. In fact you should sweat if you're supposed to because that's how you get rid of toxins. I'm speechless. When I sweat now and I smell my own sweat, there's no smell at all. It works more than 24-48 hours for me but it's winter here where I am. I've been using it for almost 2 months and I'm still very much in love with it. I bought a bunch of them -- gym/home/work. It's about $7 for 4.25oz rock lasts at least 1 year. Try it and make sure you cover the area at least 60-80 swipes... |

I use Dr Hauschka floral and hubby uses Dr Hauschka fresh (fresh smells divine too, but thought I shouldn't smell the same as hubby ...).
Anyway, I recommend Dr H as really natural, lovely smelling products ... |

The only deodorant that works for me is KISS MY FACE Liquid Rock. I like the "Summer Ete"
scent. It's fairly cheap, natural and delivers. |

Great suggestions...thanks!
Serendipity: could you describe how those deodorants smell? Are they fairly strong? How floral is the floral? Is the fresh scent more manly?
How about your Kiss my Face product, mountain girl?
Thank you chesterfield and feliz for your suggestions. How long does it take the rub the crystal 80 times?! I have a 5 1/2 month old....I barely have time for a shower these days!! |

I've used KMF and Dr. H before, they're still not "natural" enough for me. And they're scented (even KMF unscented one smells a little something...). It takes me about 30 seconds. You just count fast 1-80 as you you swipe up and down so that should be about 30 seconds or less... |

Here is the ingredient list for the floral deodorant:
Water/Aqua, Alcohol, Triethyl Citrate, Glycerin, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Fragrance/Parfum (Essential Oil), Zinc Ricinoleate, Bentonite, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Leaf Extract, Geraniol, Linalool, Citral, Citronellol, Limonene, Farnesol, Benzyl Benzoate, Eugenol, Benzyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil (Jojoba Wax), Sucrose Laurate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lecithin, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil (Rose Essential Oil)
The floral version is sweeter smelling - not too flowery at all, sweeter rather than flowery. The fresh version is cleaner smelling with more citrus tones. I am happy to use either one. But I don't wear perfume - and I am not sure if you could wear both. |

ww.lush.com has some good deodorants and I found that using the Crystal spray under the Aromarant makes it work really well all day. The Crystal spray works great too but it has no scent so mixing it makes it scented and long lasting. All the Lush deos are great to one extent or another. Just depends on what you like. There are powders, bars, and a powdery bar and cream bar. FYI, I found the long term use of baking soda which is an ingredient in most of the LUSH ones causes irritation so I like to switch it around. Right now I am using Aromarant.
I also lovewww.oyinhandmade.com - Butter but the turnaround time is long. It was worth it and I just know now to order ahead. However the scents are only two choices and luckily I liked the one I thought I would hate and vice versa. Again it has baking soda so it can irritate with long term. |

The Kiss My Face deodorant I use is a "liquid rock" type. It has a very light scent. Not at all overpowering...kinda floral but barely there. |
