can use to set my foundation? I will use a brush to apply it. I am hoping it won't look cakey or built up and magnify my pores. My pores are fine after I apply my foundation but darn if they don't look like craters after I apply a light dusting of powder. Am I dreaming? Does such a pressed powder exist? Or do I have to go hunting at Nordstroms. I'd like to carry it with me to touch up my oilies during the day, too. |

Physician's formula has decent mineral pressed powder comes in different shades. I especially appreciate its package with a built in compact brush, pretty handy for on the go. As for oiliness during the day, why not use oil blotting paper instead. If you have a Janpanese $2 store "Daso" around, you can find a pack of 100 or 200 for a mere $2. |

Not familiar with any drugstore brands...but Laura Mercier and Vincent Longo powders are both fabulous!

I find using a sponge to apply lessens the crater thing. Something about brushes tend to emphasize it especially with mineral makeup. |

I agree! Once I started using a flocked sponge to apply my MU, not only did my pores practically disappear but, my MU wears longer too. Yea for me.
As for the posted topic, you might try Physicians Formula Organic Wear pressed powder, I have the loose version and LOVE it. Im thinking of picking up the pressed for travel convenience myself...

The finishing veil is awesome too. |

Coty used to make a very nice powder, don't know if they still do. It used to come in a container with fans on it. But, I think you should trek on into Nordstroms and go to the Laura Mercier counter and get some loose translucent powder and maybe some foundation primer - you deserve it! LM used to have a smaller size of the powder that made it easy to carry around, don't know if they still have that. |

I like Loreal's Visible Lift powder. It sets makeup perfectly.

I use Cover Girl Advanced Radiance pressed powder from time to time and find it on par with department store brands. Not cakey at all. |
