I got this a my free gift for signing up on the Avene website months ago and wasn't terribly interested in it, so I threw it in a drawer and forgot about it. Last week I came across it and stuck in in my 1 quart liquids-and-gels bag in my carry-on. Whenever I fly on a long-haul flight, my normally dry skin gets even drier, and wintery termperatures make matters even worse. When I got to my hotel, I tidied up and figured I'd give the mask a try.
It's a creamy, lotiony white mask that is supposed to be applied "thickly" to the skin, so that's what I did, and left it on for fifteen minutes or so. Then you are supposed to tissue off any excess and spray with thermal water if needed to remove the remaining mask. Well, after a long flight, my skin just drank it in--there really wasn't much to tissue away. My skin felt so much more comfortable, and it seemed to relieve some of the redness I often get on my cheeks as well.
Since coming home, I've used it twice more. It does what it says--it's soothing and it moisturizes. I wouldn't really call it a mask; it's more of a creamy consistency. I will buy this when I use up the free tube. |

I also received mine in the Avene giveaway, and I love this product! It's been great for my dry skin this winter. Like flitcraft, I intend to buy this when my freebie runs out. |

I have tried a sample of this before. I used it when I was travelling and stayed in the hotel when the long flight and the air con in the hotel made my skin so dehrydrated. Well, I even put it all over my eyelids and eye area to soothe the skin. For me, I would say it is an average and very gentle mask, a mask to be used as an instant relief to dry dehyrated skin only. As it is gentle, I think it should be of no harm to all types of skin. |

I totally agree that it's gentle and provides instant relief! When I suffered from dermatitis with bright red, peeling skin, this was the only moisturizer I could use that didn't irritate my skin. And it was so cooling and soothing. |

This mask is my favourite. Sometimes I try other stuff, but every time my skin has problems I will switch back to this. |

I've been suffering with acute dermatitis of the eyelid for the past few weeks. (And no one can figure out why!!)
Anyway, I've been using a prescription hydrocortisone cream on it several times a day, but it's still dry and flaky. So I thought to put a tiny dab of the Avene soothing mask on them, and it has helped almost as much as the prescription. Hopefully it'll be gone in the next few days... |

I'm sad. It seems that CVS has stopped carrying Avene products I was getting the Avene thermal water there. I like it better than the Roche-Posay spray I had to replace it with. |
