Hi y'all. Long time no see!
I am here for some glycolic cleanser advice, so if anyone has used the products below, please let me know if they fit my needs.
Previously my husband used the cleanser from the brand Aquaglycolics as a pre-shave treatment (applied and left on for a minute or two and then applied shaving cream directly over the top).
His skin was just WONDERFUL when he did this routine and he never had any trouble with nicks or ingrown hairs (ended with Decleor Aromessence Homme under regular balm/moisturizer)
I am about to do an EDS order and I really want to get something similar for him (since I cannot find Aquaglycolic cleanser anywhere)
which, if any, of the following would be suitable for this?
(most important, the product MUST be non-foaming)
1. emerginC Multi-Fruit Cleanser
2. JM Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser
3. Caudalie Gentle Cleanser (it is lactic acid though)
I cannot find anything else on EDS
Any feedback on these cleansers welcome!
Cheers! |

The JM Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser is non-foaming. I haven't tried the other cleansers. |

I like the Jan Marini glycolic cleanser, plus when i shave in the morning it doesn't sting after! |

I forgot to add i use it on dry skin, and then rinse it works best this way for me. |

I'll add another positive vote for the Jan Marini one. It is creamy and non-foaming plus effective without being harsh. I have also tried the MD Formulations glycolic cleanser and found it had a similar consistency, but I see EDS doesn't ship this one outside the US. |

I haven't tried the Jan Marini but I use Osea Ocean Cleanser and that has lactic acid and I really like it. It's also non-foaming. |

I have used both JM and Caudalie Gentle Cleanser. Both products are excellent. If I were getting one for my husband I would go with the JM. The Caudalie is fragrant. I do not think my DH would be too keen on the smell. Caudalie is also extremely gentle. JM gives a little more punch. |

Thank you all for the feedback!
I guess JM will be the way to go then. Now to go count my pennies and see if I can afford all the goodies I want!! |

I'm curious how much benefit can be derived from a cleanser; aren't AHA's more valuable as a leave-on kind of treatment? |

I have no idea Athena...all I know is that my applying the cleanser and waiting a minute and then leaving it on when the shaving cream was applied, made for an incredible change in DH's skin. he used to get really bad razor burn and this stopped it completely. He had such smooth beautiful skin after shaving! |

m, maybe the minute is all he needs then? I've been using glycolic acid as a leave-on treatment for a few years now, I guess my skin is more resistant. Then again, your hubby exfoliates everyday just by the act of shaving |
