It's nice , but a bit strong for a starter, try a more gentler one if this is your first vitamin c serum , like obagi 10% |

Well, first of all, how young are you?
As we grow older, we need more % for the serum to rejuvenate our skin... But also, it is better to start young to take care of our skin, the sooner the better. Later on in life, you won't regret it... and maybe no plastic surgery?

I don't think there's 100% vitamin serum. I think the max strengths is 20%. You can benefit from this in conjunction to peeling (or dermabrasion) to renew the skin. And if you continue using this on your skin, you will see results. Just be patient.

Wonderful attitude!
I'm using Obagi 20% now and I like it a lot! Nice feeling and very brightening. I've liked pretty much every high percentage vitamin C products I've used, still this is clearly a favorite. It also appear far more stable than most other equivalent product.
So yes, I think it's worth the money.

I have used both the 10% and 20% and I noticed a difference in the texture bet'n the 2. The 20% in your hand fells like coloured water - the 10% seemed to have more substance and was easier to apply.
I agree with nibu that you might want to start with the 10% (5% for under eyes)and work your way up. I love the Obagi C, I have tried some the Cellex-C but they were a little to strong for me. |

Hi Jelly
I have used 2 bottles of Obagi 20% serum already. I started off using the strongest dosage because my face is used to all sorts of facials and peels, a weaker one simply wouldn't work. But of course, this depends on the individual.
It's an excellent product (thence my second bottle, I guess). At the initial stage, your face can get a bit red, particularly around your nose, but you have to allow yourself some time to adjust to it. The texture is like between oil and water (?!), very easy to use, not much of a smell to it, I have oily skin and it just sinks right into it.
My experience with this product was a bit funny. When I opened my first bottle, the serum was frizzy and it gushed out like a can of coke!!! The air even got pushed to the top of the plastic applicator and formed a balloon the next day I used it!! For that particular bottle, the texture was quite thin like water.
My second bottle was none of the above, it was just flat like a normal serum should be. The texture was a bit thicker than the first.
I noticed that my pores became smaller, my skin texture was also smoother. But I am also using Vitamin A every other day in conjunction with Obagi 20% serum, thence, the great results??
I hope that my experience has helped you make your decision. |

The fizzy bottle happened to me on my 1st bottle of 15% up from the 10% - I actually sent it back and it was replaced with with a 2nd bottle that did the same thing so I kept it and it seemed fine. I did find the texture more watery than the 5% I use on my eyes.
What is the vitamin a that you are using it is a retinal? |

Alley
The Vitamin A I am using is 'Afirm', it is retinol in a fully active cosmetic form ( as they claim, not sure what it means though), it's actually a yellowish cream, easily absorbed, even for oily skin. But you do get a tingling sensation and will turn your face red, as per usual, it will go down over time. The trick of using this stuff is not to use it every night, but every other night, otherwise, it won't be effective. Of course this cream is to be used at night only like most Vitamin A products.
Like Obagi, this brand has different strengths, I am using 3x as it is the strongest, 1x can be used for sensitive skin and/or under the eyes.
To me, the price is reasonable for such a great product. But you do have to shop around for the best price, you can save up to $6 per tube. Unfortunately, EDS do not stock this brand. It would be great if they do!! |

I use the 20% on my face, neck and chest but avoid the eyes==for those i use the 5%.
I had tried higher percentages for the eyes and it just sting too much.
If you have sensitive skin, i suggest building up to it.
Start with 10 % on the face and use a whole bottle--or two to get accustomed--then switch to 15 for another one or two bottle cycles and finally to 20.
You may want to consult with a dermatologist the first time.

It would be really nice to see you offer more constructive feedback, rather than repetitive content about the same product. |
