I am looking for a non-SLS Shampoo that does actually lather up. Has anyone found a good one? |

if you are looking for a cheap drugstore brand then you could try Palmolive that one doesnt have any SLS........also some of the sunsilk shampoos dont have SLS so youl have to check out the ingrediant list and see.
currently m using the Sunsilk moisture one and the conditioner to go with that m using for glossy silky hair both i read doesnt have SLS........ |

Go to cosmeticdatabase.com
In addition to checking out ingredients, there are also some reviews you can evaluate.
I had read that Pureology shampoos and conditioners were SLS free...but after looking on that website, appears there are other chemical nasties that are also a pretty big concern in their products. YIKES!!

Do Aveda's hair products contain SLS too?
I could not find out from the packaging. |

I have been using Pureology for colored hair and for some reason I too was under the impression it was SLS free. But like you I saw it right there at the top of the list. I heard they used to be a great line but were bought by larger line (L'oreal maybe?) and went downhill.
I want a really good line. I might have to make it myself. |

You won't much lather from this one but it's gorgeous - Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream. Wonderful for dry hair. |

waffle:
does this lather? I have thick hair that gets oily at the roots and dry at the ends and I need lather to get in there or it drives me nuts.
Have you found a good price for this? Is the caviar line the best for color treated hair?
thanks |

Hi! There are 2 shampoos from Aubrey Organics that lather up without SLS - Green Tea shampoo, and the Calaguala Fern. I too have oily roots and dry ends and really like these two...probably the Calaguala Fern one is my favourte of the two. |

Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream is very nice. You won't get a ton of lather, however (and its not very concentrated). |

If you have color treated hair - Pureology - very nice stuff. I like the volumizing shampoo and the hydrating conditioner and don't seem to get any breakout around the hair line from their products. I recently got the Super Straight (I think it's called) and like it very much. What I like best is how nice my color stays until the next "touch-up." HTH! |

I use Avalon Organics - Lavender.
Once I switched to that shampoo/conditioner I found my skin to be less itchy. Previous shampoos left my scalp dry, itchy plus wherever the shampoo rinsed off was also irritated. |

Hi -
I use it too and really like it but it has SLS's. All this time I thought it was SLS free. Bummer. |

m, I believe it does lather...I can't handle complete nonlathering shampoo because my hair is so thick...but I actually can't recall. I have not found a 'good' price -- it's expensive. but it doesn't leave my hair dull, smells great, and is great on my fried hair! |

Thanks. You would remember if it did not lather. I have a lot of hair too and it is really annoying with no lather and there are non SLS alternatives that lather up. I have Deva Care Nopoo and that one has no lather at all. Great shampoo for curly or wavy hair but drove me nuts. |

Pureology has sulfates now???
I gotta go read my ingredients list. Grrrrrr.
I used to use the Alterna products and loved 'em. Maybe I'm going back to them. Can't beat the pretty bottles, anyway. |

I believe LUSH has a new shampoo bar called Green that is SLS free. Not sure about the lathering part but shape should make it easy for travelling. |

Sudzz FX is a fantastic sulfate free line. It took me a little getting used to, I was so accustomed to gobs of lather when shampooing but it leaves my curly hair soft, shiny and well hydrated. A little pricey but well worth it! |
