I have to agree with most people here- Clinique's 3 step is the stuff of nightmares! I do like their Moisture surge line though.
My skin is very sensitive to different products, so what I consider rubbish may be another's HG- but I thought I should list a few more products/ brands that left me less than impressed;
- Decleor Cleansing water- I didn't think it cleaned my skin properly and my skin went bright red(its usual reaction to products it doesn't like!)
- L'oreal products- even their stuff for dry/sensitive skin- has anyone else noticed that their samples in magazines tend to be good, but the full size product isn't?
- Boots No7 Products- they are all crap, there's not a single decent product in their make up and skin care line
-Boots Soltan sunscreen- gave me mega-pimples, the horrible, sore kind.
-Lancome- it's just glorfied L'oreal and equally awful
-8 hour cream- glorified Vaseline anyone? I couldn't make it work! |

Clarins-- I just find they have too many false promises, fragrances, alcohol, basically everything you dont want to put on your skin. |

I love Clarins hand lotion though, it smell good and really moisturizes without greasy left overs. |

John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze. Total cr*ppo. No matter how much rinsing, it left a coating of SLIME over my hair...Ugh!!! I gave it to my daughter (who has thick, shiny hair as opposed to my babyfine hair) and same thing. My other all-time disaster is Fusion mascara...it came off all over my eye sockets, which was pointed out to me by a client. I notified the company and they didn't even respond. It seems never to dry and is a really wimpy mascara. Makeupalley has a slew of bad reviews on it as well. |

On my list of worst I would have to say
1)Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser....dried my face out so much, it was so tight you could practicaly bounce a quarter off it...garbage it went!
2)MaMa lotion....I got a sample of this stuff so decided to try it out one day...ugh! First application burnt my face like the hubs of hell!! Had red rings around my eye area for a few days and had to lay off all my other face goodies during that time period, just good old Emu oil until the inflamation and redness went down....just a prime example that spot testing prior to over all application is highly recommended, even if you think you have tough skin like I do!!!
3)The curse of the century...chapstick!!! I am so addicted to this stuff that if I don't have it near me or can't find it anywhere I start hyperventilating...ha ha...my lips feel like crap when this stuff dries up/wears off on it yet I continue to buy it cause I can't be without it...I need to find something else that actually helps my lips and not make me feel like I need my next fix!!! lol... |

I used the L'occitane Lavender line ever before. Long after that,I found my skin type was dry and the line which was suitable for me should be the Shea Butter.
So just because I made mistake and used the wrong products,my skin is much drier now. |

Let's see, here is my list:
Peter Thomas Roth Skin Lightening cream and gel
(the do not lighten, the texture is weird)
Evian Affinity Oxygenating Cleanser
It takes a lot for me to hate a cleanser, this one didn't clean my skin, and foamed in a weird way
Many products by LUSH.
Too scented, not "natural" enough. They have a few gems, but these are few and far between. I'll give special mention to their lip balms: terrible.
Neutrogena UltaSheer dry touch sunblock spf 30
This ghave me the worst breakout of my life and left me with acne scars for weeks.
Thankfully, with all of the reviews avaialble online now, we can research before buying and avoid all of these lemons! |

Hmmm...just thought of another product I simply CAN'T stand!!!! Nivea Skin Firming Lotion with Q10 Plus....
horrible watery consistency which was a pain, left a greasy film on me that lasted forever and had this terribly overpowering odor (that lasted forever as well) that would've probably sent me in to an asthma attack had I used it more than once (and I don't have asthma!)....couldn't take it....one use and in to the trash it went. What a waste of $10.... |

- Pretty much everything from Neutrogena and L'Oreal. It always looks so appealing in the store, but it inevitably is irritating and breaks me out.
- Retin-a/tretinoin. This just didn't work for me and made my skin worse. I switched to Tazorac and am so much happier!
- Glycerin! I read on MUA that this was a cheap, effective moisturizer so I made a sort of toner with water and glycerin and happily applied it. It ended up giving me the worst breakout of my life. I mean, painfully throbbing cysts, whiteheads, blackheads/giant pores, redness, irritation, flakes. I have never had such a reaction to an item in my life--and this was only after two uses! It took about six months for my skin to fully recover. The only upshot of that disastrous experiment was that I've learned to stay away from skincare products that have glycerin as a main ingredient. |

Clinique soap bar, ughh. But I do love their lotion, it's extra thick and for some odd reason, doesn't clog my pores. Their mascaras aren't too great either. |

clinique's clarifying lotion is the most terrible product i have ever used. it makes my skin dry and patchy. especially when its so dry here in london. I didn;t want to waste it though, so I am using that to exfoliate my feet now. |

Carmex! That stuff is the debil!
The first time I tried it: "mmmmm this feels GOOD, nice & cool and smooth on my lips!"
Fast forward to a couple months later: "OMG I gotta stock up I'm down to 4 pots! (one in the purse, one by the bathroom counter, one in the kitchen and one in my desk at work, oh and one in the car)"
My lips became so accustomed to the feel of it that I simply couldn't bear to be without it 24/7. Even now, many years later after getting off the stuff, I have to have something on my lips or I feel "raw".
Unless you have cold sores (the indication on the pot for it) you don't need camphor in your lip balm! Way drying!
Word: don't use it! |

Oh, really, so many people don't like the Clinique 3-Step? Me too! Lotion ached me and cream has no effect. But the total around cream is good, I like the feeling as silkily after applying it on my cheeks...Of Course, no other effect:( |

you probably got some of that cheap chinese poisonous glycerin, no joke!
most glycerin is manufactured in china and recently there was an expose on how a lot of it was unpure and even caused some deaths in central america because it was such a high ingredient in toothpaste and in cough medicine.
i think normal glycerin wouldn't cause such an extreme reaction.
but since the labels on all the glycerin drums never include provenance, one can never be sure. i tend to avoid glycerin in products for this reason, although it's a marvelously effective moisturizer otherwise.
