Just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of ugly blood clot in the skin, looks kind of like bruises or so. I have it on my breast from preganancy and it looks horrible, it started out looking red and now it turned brown. The dermatologist never really said it was anything, they told me to use HQ but I don't think its pigmenation, I believe its blood clot or so. Please help if anyone knows what it is Thanksa bunch! Wink

I personally wouldn't use HQ. If this is a bruise though then creams with vitamin K will make it go away quicker. If it's a blood clot then, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a dangerous thing to have? If I were in your position I'd go to another derm/doc and ask for another opinion. Good luck with it!

Blood clots happen in arteries and cause heart attacks! Vericose veins are blue/red bumps of blood in the capilaries (blood vessels close to the skin surface)

I think I know what you mean! are they like little red spots almost on the surface of the skin? like burst blood vessels but in a ballon? not sure if I'm describing well. I asked my dr about it and she said that it could easily be sorted out...I think they just zap em, like tread veins. I never got mine done cos I had a big row with the drs and only go there now if I'm desparate

sounds to me that you are describing what is called a cherry angioma/petechiae. If they look like pin head sized cherry red dots (1-3mm)where some have faded to brown then I'm right. In actuality they are small hemorrhagic spots caused by capillary bleeding. They can appear after pregnancy and are a normal part of the aging process.

Since they are underneath the skin i dont think that any topical ointment will be beneficial. You could ask your doctor the next time you see her/him if they are really bothering you. Do not whatsoever pick at them.

But if you are describing what is a bruise (ecchymosis) blue/black to green to yellow then it will go away - just give it time.

Yes Guapagirl and Amesevy, I think what you're describing is similiar to what I have.Or then again it could be vericose veins also. Well whatever it is something similiar to all those described. Wow I feel better that someone knows what it is. Yeah I should try a different dermatologist, maybe they'll zap it out for me and hopefully it will go away. But I'd probably wait until I deliver my 2nd baby first. Thanks again. Razz

Jill - wow, I'm so glad you posted that. For years I wondered why on earth every few months or so I get a bright red dot somewhere on my skin (mainly sides of my face). It looks like a freckle but it's RED. Then it just magically disappears. At least now I know what it is Very Happy
