I'm planning on getting pregnant soon (if all goes to plan!) I currently use La Roche Posay's Antelios for children in spf 60. Despite it being formulated for chidren and having a high PPD and UVA protection factor I wonder how safe it actually is and how much is being absorbed by my bloodstream. There is discussion about endocrine effects of chemical sunscreens. With that in mind I wonder which sunscreen is safest and most protective during pregnancy. Did anyone use high factor UVA suncreen when pregnant without any ill effect?
I only want to use it on my face and neck as I want to expose the rest of my body to the sun for half an hour each day to ensure I get enough vitamin D for me and the baby.
I look forward to any replies.
Thanks
Camelia |

Hi and congratulations, good for you for regarding safety of everything you use now.
There is a thread here about SS and it was mentioned that Tinasorb, a physical SS, was listed on EWA as being safe. You might check out that site:www.cosmeticdatabase.com
Hope that helps and best wishes to you! |

Hi Camelia, here's a link to a sunscreen created especially for pregnancy + lactation, which is 100% free of phthalates.
