I am in the planning stages of what to consider after my 18 week Obagi regimen. I have placed an order for Skin Biology CP Serum and will also order 2% BHA cream. I was thinking about ordering Jansen Beckett products as well. Does anyone know the ph of JB cleanser? I've heard that anything under 5.5, that BHA can be applied right after cleansing.

These are just my thoughts of where to go after Obagi based on my readings on EDS but I thought I'd get some opinions and ideas from everyone on the EDS forum.

How should I start and what products should I consider starting with? Should I still be using any Obagi products after 18 weeks?

Thanks for all the help.

I had good results with Obagi, but the first time around I did not do maintenance program (using Obagi twice a week). Within about 2 months my skin did not look as good. So, I did another 12 weeks, daily (ugh) and have kept up the Obagi maintenance since. Good luck to you.

That has been my dilemma since I finished Obagi. I can't seem to land on a product/line that I will be faithful with! Whatever you choose, good luck to you!

I did the Obagi program for 18 weeks and then maintenance but still had a few brown spots return - so now I am using Mamam Lotion in the am and pm Obagi Blender and Retin-a every night. Seems to be working. I

I have been searching for what to do on the days you do not use Obagi during maintenance.

I tried to switch away from Obagi to Skinmedica but I have con't to break out even after 12 weeks. I thought I just needed time to get used to it but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I am going back to Obagi for maintenance but am not sure if I should con't with the Skinmedica or what to do Confused

I think different people have different results. I've been using Obagi for over 5 years and it is the ONLY PRODUCT that I used on my skin! I've never looked back and my skin is excellent, esp. considering my "age".... Whatever you do, after getting the results either from Obagi or some other products, you have to use it continuously or should I say "you have to maintain the results"...

It is better to take care of your skin at ANY AGE, then, you won't be wondering why in later years, "WHY IS MY SKIN LIKE THIS, FULL OF WRINKLES AND ALL THAT!"... I'd rather have the PREVENTION NOW, than wake in the morning one day and I will look horrible looking at myself for not taking care of my skin!

Fairrene,

If you are in your twenties or thirties and just have a few spots or damagae on your skin, I will just try the Obagi-C System Clarifying Serum.

But if you are forties and above and more spots and sun damage, try the Obagi Nu-Derm Kit.

Please keep us posted whichever you choose of the Obagi products. Thanks.

is this a good idea?

I also have been deciding to go off maintenance and back to my old routine but my skin is so nice that Iam afraid. So using the NuDerm Iam sticking w/maintenance as follows from the conference that Obagi presented that my derm went to. AM/PM Cleanser Toner am SS Healthly Skin Protection I use the Vit C at night every 3rd night I use the retional/bender and on the other days during the AM Exforderm Forte each night I also use the Clear. When I do run out of the Blender I will switch to MD Forte Replenshing Cream and they also said for toner I could use Witch Hazel non alchol. Sorry EDS but I go to ObagiSale.com and get 15% no tax free SH or Skincarerx.com code MUA 20 for 20% no tax free SH

Dear Mely09, Thanks for your advise.
I have only spots so Obagi System Clarify Serum is suitable. But i have one more question if u know, what about the Obagi Professional C (which comes in 10-20%)?

Hello Fairrene,

Obagi-C System Clarifying Serum is a formulation combining 10% professional strength vitamin C with prescription strength 4% Hydroquinone to brighten and even skin tone.

So, you don't need another C. I hope that helps.

Fairenne,

As far as I know, Obagi Professional C does not have hydroquinone while Obagi-C System Clarifying Serum is a C product and at the same time have hydroquinone.

you may be using to much of your products that could be causing the reddness also you will purge from this. If you are under a Dr care then I would call them if not I would ease up on the products maybe use the harsh ones every 3rd day and remember to only use a small amount 1/2 gram pinky joint to middle of product - HTH you can pm me I will be out of the country from July 17-31

dm26,

It will take atleast 6 weeks before you will start seeing results. I was red for about 2 months before it started to subside. I was using .10% tretinoin five days a week. If your skin is extremely red and irritated, you can reduce the number of days you use the blender/trentinoin per week and try to increase it by one day every two weeks. It will take some time for your skin to adjust to the products and build tolerance to them.

I peeled every day all over my face until my final two weeks of using the system. Peeling is good. Your body will produce fresh new skin as a result.

You are getting pimples because your face is congested and the Obagi sytem is bringing all of the congestion to the surface. You might continue to break out in different areas of your face for weeks. After two months or so the break outs will subside and the congestion in your face will go away.

Stick with the system. Its hard at first but at the end of it your skin will look absolutely amazing!!

For maintenance, I have been using the Obagi C System for about 3 months. It has enhanced the results of the Nu Derm system. My pores have reduced further in size, the texture of my face is smooth and my skin is completely clear and fresh looking. I highly recommend it!

wow, thanks alot for the response Vangirl. u definitely persuaded me to stick with the system.
before starting obagi, i had been using differin gel for about 9 months. it's a form of retin-a. i thought since my skin was used to retin-a, i would not be experiencing these side effects so much.
but i'll be sticking with the program. we'll see what happens. thanks again Vangirl.
