In another topic, Miranets mentioned using a rinse off oil cleanser for removing sunscreen. Anyone have a rec for a good one? I have dry skin so this might serve well for two purposes.
Thanks!

I would normally use my own blend of OCM, but on days I am lazy and want the wash-off kind, I like L'Occitane Amande Pomme (Almond and Apple) Cleansing Oil - it works for me. It smells realy pleasant, too. HTH!

I second this, I never thought it would work and I'd be zit city...but it's the best eye makeup remover for me. I use this before I use PSF Castile and it's the cleanest my face has ever felt. AND not dry or tight an def. no more flakies!

I've tried a few (haven't tried the L'Occitane suggested above) and so far my favourite is the Babor cleansing oil set (there are two products involved). It rinses off very easily and leaves my skin feeling nice and clean. I actually just bought it again recently and I'm looking forward to starting up with it again after I finish off my current Dermalogica cleanser (that's right, I'm trying to be good and finishing stuff first so I don't have 101 bottles of half-used cleanser Smile).

i love using pure virgin coconut oil. You can wash it right off with a warm cloth. it leaves your skin very soft, it is antibacterial, and won't clog pores

Mabsy - I can't find the Babor Phytoactives product that's used with their oil on EDS. Where do you buy it?

I have tried to use pure oils in the past but they are absolutely horrible because they don't emulsify with water so you end up having to use a very strong cleanser afterwards to remove all traces of grease.

If you are budget conscious, I recommend these brands -
Kanebo Hadabisei
Kose Softymo Deep or Speedy cleansing oil

they can all be found for under $15 on Ebay, or try facial-shop.com

I have also tried Fancl and Shiseido Tiss which are very nice but no difference in cleansing power compared to the above mentioned. I have also tried luxe brands like Shu Uemura, Jill Stuart and Lunasol but again they are not much different.

The things to look for in a good cleansing oil, completely emulsifies both oil and water based cosmetics, rinses clean, does not over strip the skin and does not irritate eyes.

I prefer Japanese drugstore brands as they are excellent quality wise.

Miranets - Thanks for all the info! I will look into all the brands you mention though I may just try the Babor. One thing I'm considering is ordering the Babor Phytoactive Reactivating and trying it with my Laszlo phelityl oil. This oil is very nice to my skin but I've got an urge to try something new for the phelityl soap. I know you shouldn't mix product lines in cases where they are formulated to be used together, but I figure I can always order the Babor Hy-ol later. Any thoughts on this since you've used the Phytoactive? TIA.

I have oily skin and had held onto samples of DHC cleansing oil - thinking OIL - no way will that be any good for me. Well - when I tried it finally - it was great. I was shocked at how much I liked it.

Decleor Huile Demaquillante Cleansing Oil. I'm on my 4th bottle. Apply several drops to your face then wet your fingers and massage all over. Rinse with warm water. It thoroughly and gently removes all makeup, including mascara but doesn't leave your skin dry and tight. An absolute favorite of mine.

I agree with miranets re: cleansing oils in general. However, I do not like all Japanese/Asian drugstore brands; some of them leave a barely noticeable film or the ingredients are just subpar--enough so that I can tell my skin doesn't look as good cumulatively.

I have used virtually all Asian cleansing oils, including Korean brands like the luxe Amore Pacific to mid-end Enprani and low-end Laneige. My favorite hands down is Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil. I have used more than 10 bottles and my skin is in great shape. I follow the Fancl with Johnson & Johnson Head to Toe and my skin is always left perfectly clean, translucently clear, and soft. Love the combo. Acceptable alternatives for me are Laneige Crystal Clean, Kose Deep Cleansing, and Kose Speedy.

I don't really like Kanebo Hadabisei. It's on the same level for me as Shiseido Perfect Oil. It's just OK. I'll use it if nothing else is around, but I won't commit to a bottle. If your Asian supermarket is limited in options, I think Kanebo Naive is better, and I see that one everywhere. Everyone's skin is different, of course.

Hi cristaline, I just got myself a bottle of Fancl Cleansing Oil too. I feel that I have more bumps and tiny pimples on my face after a few days of use. I'm not sure if that's the reason why or maybe my period is coming close. Also, I didn't wash my face again with another cleanser afterwards....so does that matter? If so, can I use a cleansing milk to wash my face afterwards or does it have to be a washing powder or some other cleanser? I feel not happy about it cuz I stopped using it now but it has to be used up in 120days. Sad Thanks!
