Hi everyone-

I am 32, and have fair, combination acne-prone skin with large pores. I admit I have probably been using too many different products with harsh ingredients lately. My skin has gotten a really rough, dry appearance - the best way I can think of to describe it is I feel like I have MAN skin Sad. The problem is I feel like I have to keep using my routine to keep my cystic acne at bay. So it seems that I can't use anything too emollient. I was thinking of trying emu oil but I'm really scared since my skin seems to basically react to everything including water.

I was also thinking maybe Clarisonic would help?

Does anyone have any suggestions for me Smile?

Hi Bunny7475. I was having major issues with my skin recently similar to what you're describing. I started using Avocado Oil to cleanse and help remove mineral based sunscreen followed by the Exceptionally Gentle Cleanser available from skincarecentral.biz which helps remove the avocado oil traces. My skin seems to really like this combination. My concerns over the avocado oil causing acne were unwarranted..I've had no issues although I do pretty thoroughly remove with the follow up cleanser.

I can only use my Clarisonic ocassionally and avoid it when my skin is showing any signs of extreme dryness or irritation.

Try Cetaphil Cleanser for Sensitive Skin. It's very light and has no fragrance. Plus it is cheap so if you don't like it in the end, you didn't put out big bucks. I personally love this cleanser. You can get it at any drugstore.

I can relate! I sugest two different cleansers: Cetaphil and Cellcosmet cream cleanser. Clarisonic would help a lot also. Also use vitamin C serum and sunblock. Then gently (maybe a couple of weeks later) introduce retinol for evenings only. Don't forget to wear sunblock!
I personally found that light application of Cellcosmet moisturizers work really well for my skin.

I'd second Cellcosmet Cream Cleanser and also the purifying gel from the same line, it's really helped my skin without being too harsh. I haven't had any new 'lumps' come up since I've been using it.
I'd avoid using anything that's too stripping and instead put some moisture back into your skin.
