I had a makeover today at MAC and the girl doing it asked 'I don't mean to be rude, but is your face always red like this?' EEk. I know its more on the red side, but I didn't think it was THAT bad!

Any advice out there on what I can do to take out some the redness and have a more even tone?

I've found that using a pearl paste has helped calm down any redness I experience. I think it'd depend on what the cause of your redness is. Have you a naturally 'rosy' complexion, were you particulary hot, flustered on that day or maybe you have Rosacea?
A while back there were some good reviews for the Pevonia RS2 Rosacea Concentrate and the cleanser in the same line

I have redness on my cheeks, but just a note - depending on where the counter was it may not have really been that bad. Were you wearing a coat? Was it crowded? Hot? etc. These are things to take into consideration. But if you do suffer from major redness issues, use a little green tint - Smashbox, Mac, Lise Watier and most other cosmetics make something similar. After you moisturise and before you use foundation/concealer dab a small amount in the red areas. Small amounts - or you may end up looking sick.
Skin care wise - you may have reacted to a product or your current regiment isn't compatible with your skin. Did you use something new?
Also - hot showers, red wine and spicy foods increase flare-ups so if you're really worried about it those are other things to look out for.
And as always use lots of SPF to protect your skin.

I have rosacea and use Yonka creme 11. It seems to sooth and calm my skin down. Maybe see a derm to be on the safe side.

I heard that anything with Sea Buckthorn was supposed to calm redness

Great tips - I will look into those two creams. Unfortunately, hot showers, wine and spicy foods are a must for me Sad
