I got the book last month and have been doing the web classes as well. I can say for me it is the one thing that has made the largest shift in me in my entire life...
The huge shock of my mom's sudden death last year and the pain of finding her, the anger at the doctors and what I thought was incompetence was creating serious health problems for me and interfering in many areas of my life.
After finishing this book,I look at everything completely differently and find all my anger, grief and pain has gone. The way I move in the world is different and my husband says 'I'm back'.
As much as Oprah has annoyed me in the past I have to say I will always be grateful to her and what she has done to bring both this book and the classes (which are free) into my life. |

Wow that's really awesome! Not i'm excited to read through this book. I'm on page 5 so far lol! I really need to just spend a day just reading this.
I did read this book called "eat, pray, love". I thought that was superb..if you haven't had a chance to read it. You will love it! |

OMG I just got this book yesterday. I'm in the middle of reading his first book - "The Power of Now" and am really enjoying so I went and got his second book as well - yet to start it.
I am really enjoying The Power of Now - so profound and deep and is most helpful in making me move forward and making a shift in my perspective on life - I read a lot of books like this and find that they all say similar things but with different analogies etc. After a while, you realise you just need to put it into practice. Can't wait to start the next book. Dips |

| I just finished this. I'm sorry to say that I got nothing out of it. The only reason I kept reading was that I thought there has to be a point in this book that will really mean something to me....it didnt happen. I also felt alot of what he had to was repetative. I'm open to new ideas and thoughts but for me he just didnt have anything to say that really wowed me. |

I am just finishing this book and have to say it does take concentration to really "get it". Then you just have to put it into practice. Like breathing awareness and staying in the moment. Feeling what's going on with you instead of reacting in a knee-jerk unconscious way
For instance, I tried this for breaking my food * spam alert * and it helps.
It's also helped me step back from reacting in a crazy way and just accept what I cannot change.
He does a great job, I think, of encapsulating a profound subject in a palatable, succinct way. Like ZEN FOR IDIOTS. (No offense, I know we aren't idiots.)
I already rented "Power of Now" from the libray for when I finish this one. I love his writings. He does give concrete advice within a very esoteric subject. I wish more ppl would read it, maybe there'd be less road rage!
