| Hi there I am planning to make this serum to sounds easy thx for the recipes, but I was wondering can I use a little cetearyl alcohol to in the serum instead of glycerine or propylene. I have read that this alcohol is mild? So that the serum will absorb good when you apply it? Tia. |

| i did diy vit C back when I joined eds..but i didnt get any benefit at all ..whereas when you buy good C serum u can actually see the difference within 2 days!! |

Wow, that's too bad. Maybe you had an expired product or the formulation was a little off..
I've had terrific success with DIY, and can't even imagine paying retail for Vit C again..  |

I wouldn't use more than a few drops, but that's just my preference. In any case, try to keep it under 1/2 tsp so the PH doesn't go too low.
The recipe I posted on the previous page is a great one for your first time..Very easy! |

| the Vc powder is not easy dissolve in water.There are chlorin in the tap water, Vc can reat with chlorin(cl),So you'd better to use distilled water or mineral water. |

I microwaved my vit c serum for 5 seconds to get the crystals to dissolve. It worked but I notice the solution doesn't sting when applied like it used to (without microwaving).
Did I deactivate the vitamin c by overheating? |
