Hi there I am planning to make this serum to sounds easy thx for the recipes, but I was wondering can I use a little cetearyl alcohol to in the serum instead of glycerine or propylene. I have read that this alcohol is mild? So that the serum will absorb good when you apply it? Tia.

Wow, that's too bad. Maybe you had an expired product or the formulation was a little off..

I've had terrific success with DIY, and can't even imagine paying retail for Vit C again.. Very Happy

I wouldn't use more than a few drops, but that's just my preference. In any case, try to keep it under 1/2 tsp so the PH doesn't go too low.

The recipe I posted on the previous page is a great one for your first time..Very easy!

the Vc powder is not easy dissolve in water. There are chlorin in the tap water, Vc can reat with chlorin(cl),So you'd better to use distilled water or mineral water.

I microwaved my vit c serum for 5 seconds to get the crystals to dissolve. It worked but I notice the solution doesn't sting when applied like it used to (without microwaving).

Did I deactivate the vitamin c by overheating?
