Hello Everyone.....I jumped on this product line when EDS came out with it because like so many people today natural, organic skin care lines are very appealing. This cream says that it is good for dry, mature and normal skin and that it firms, hydrates and lifts. Unfortunately, my skin must be on the ultra dry side because I did not find this cream very moisturizing. To be sure it is a very nicely textured cream that sinks beautifully into the skin and so I feel that this would be excellent for normal to oily skin types. Perhaps even good for someone a little on the dry side. But, for super dry like myself, if have my doubts. Another thing that did not please me about this cream was the strong lavender scent (strange because lavender is not listed as one of the ingredients.) It is far too pungent for me as I'm one of those who strongly dislikes scented creams. I wish I had something positive to say here but I think it's just a matter of the wrong product for the wrong skin type.
I'll list the ingredients below:
Purified water, Sweet almond & Safflower oils, Cetearyl Alcohol and cetearyl glucoside (pant), Sea algae extract, Oat Beta Glucan, Glycerin Methylsilanol mannuronate (mineral), Water & phospholipids (plant), Vitamins A,C and E, Dialmitoyl hydorxyproline (botanical anti-aging extract), Borage oil, Shea butter, Bergamot oil, Vitamins A,C,E, Phenoxyethanol & caprylyl glycol & caprylo glycine & sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, (plant preservatives) xanthan (mineral). |

Thanks for the review. Was just looking at this line at EDS, and in particular this product, but wondered if it would be too heavy for my (usually) oily skin. I think I’ll give it a try as I’m looking for something new to use at night, although I’m a little concerned about any lavender scent.. I can’t stand lavender. I also notice it contains bergamot, another “scent” I can live without. Anyway, have saved it in my cart for my next order, along with the eye gel (which is out of stock). The prices seem quite reasonable for this line. |

Appletini.....this is not a heavy cream...it's very light and probably would be a good cream for you. However, it is heavy on the lavender scent. If you can be fine with that then I feel it would be a good choice for oily skin. My skin is extremely dry. |

I thought I was the only one who didn't like lavendar! To me it is reminiscent of cheap soap... |

I agree with you, but for me the addition of Lavender also irritates my sensitive skin if too much is used. Unfortunately, in this cream the Lavender is overpowering. A shame because otherwise this cream contains some very good ingredients. |

It's really disappointing that they didn't list lavender in the ingredients even though it is one of the most active for the scent. It must have been like buying a cat in a bag for you. |

Yes, it reminds me of those toilet air freshener things!
Anyway I went ahead and ordered this last night, despite my concerns re the lavender. I also put the Kimberley Sayer grab bag forum gift in the cart and hope I got it before it ran out, as I see it's gone now. Also ordered the Hydrating Antioxidant Mask, with the "patented plant pseudocollagen", whatever that is. "Results are immediate" apparently. I like the sound of that, but we'll see |

Did they list xanthan is a mineral? According to everyone else it's produced by bacterial fermentation of corn and is a thickener. |

I received my EDS order today, and noticed the ingredients on the jar seemed different to those listed by leeleedeedee. Went back to EDS store, clicked back and forth, and realised I ordered the wrong product .. I got the Aromatic Night Repair Cream instead. Well they look kind of similar Sometimes I have the attention span of a fruit fly..
I’ll post the ingredients of the Aromatic Night Repair Cream anyway, as I already typed them out and they’re not listed on the site. Now this one does have lavender
Purified water, High oleic safflower oil, shea butter (whole), glycerin, lavender water, unrefined bees wax & propolis, orange wax,
Wheatgerm oil, extracts of comfrey root and plantain, lavender & rose oils, aloe vera gel, lecithin, vitamins A, C & E, potassium sorbate (plant), xanthan gum (plant), phenoxylethanol & caprylyl glycol & capryloyl glycine & sodium hydroxymethylglycinate (plant preservatives)
Haven’t tried the Night Repair Cream yet, but just gave my new Hydrating Antioxidant Mask a try and it does seem to give the skin a nice texture/slight tightening on first impressions. Oh, and I got a full size 5 oz Ultra Light Facial Moisturiser as a free gift! Thank you EDS! I was actually thinking of trying this and I got it for free |

Appletini.....I also purchased the Aromatic Night Repair Cream, but eventually gave it to my mother because of the heavy handed use of Lavender. However, I did like the cream because of it's rich texture and nice moisturizing effect on my skin. Much better than the antioxidant cream but the Lavender became too much for me.
Please let us know how you're doing with your Kimberly Sayer products. |
