Last summer I tried the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF that everyone here seemed to like so much, but I found it too drying for dry mature skin. I gave it to my daughter, but she also found it too drying.
I ended up with Shiseido The Skincare Essential Tinted Moisturizer Spf 15 Sunscreen 50 ml 1.9 oz. It basically lasted me all year; in fact exactly one year, as Nordy's can check when you last bought something. I don't wear it every day, however.
This April then I wanted to replace it, since I havent' really heard of anything new and I was pretty satisfied with it overall. So of course they have made a "new improved" version. I use this label ironically as it's almost always new and worse and more expensive. In this case there is some improvement. The new one is called Shiseido The Skincare Tinted Moisture Protection SPF 20 Sunscreen . Tell me they couldn't have done that last year, I mean had a higher SPF? Anyhow, it seems to be a little more matte, for those who like matte. I'm not sure if they changed the colors, too. Last year for my light to medium complexion I got #2 Medium Glo and found it a little light for summer, but fine in other seasons. This year Nordy's was out of #2, so I went across to Macy's and they also only had #3 called Medium Deep. So far I am happy with the new one, though maybe last year's version was slightly more dewy which I like. But it may just be the influence of the word Glo on my literary imagination.
To sum up: the 2008 version is still 50 ml but contains (or weighs 2.1 oz--what did they put in it? heavy metals ?) Has 5 more SPF and costs if I recall $4.00 more. |

Hi!
What are the active ingredients listed that give it the SPF?
Thanks - |

I've got both of those tinted moisturizers on my list to look at next time I go to Sephora!
So, did you find the 2008 Shiseido more moistuizing than Laura Mercier? That's my biggest need. I have very dry skin, and it's also getting more and more "mature"...lol. |

Button, yes, it is more moisturizing than Laura Mercier, but not at all greasy.
The Active ingredients are:
Octinoxate 1.9%
and
Titanium Dioxide 12.4%
It does not make my nose itch like some do. Very pleasant to wear. |
