To all EDS members with oily skin.

Can anyone share their opinion on the best anti aging day or night cream they use for oily skin, which is effective at reducing fine lines.

There are so many reviews for good anti aging creams for normal, dry, combination, sensitive and mature but i cant find reviews for oily skin.

Would appreciate good or bad opinions on products.

hmmm, I think oily skin is not that easy to get old, so anti-aging is not that important.

If you are at cold place, then you can try all kinds of anti-aging lines in winter.

If not, I guess you can use some serum other than some thick cream. If you really want a brand, I guess valmont is better for combo/oily skin.

For moisturizing: check out threads on emu oil - some oily folks finds it helps normalize their oil production. Also Decleor Ylang Ylang Aromessence and Balm. I have dry skin but remember those as working for some people with oily skin because of their balancing effect.

For anti-aging, you probably want to add some actives to your routine like Vit. C serum. Lots of threads here are different ones and which works best for what type of skin, etc. If you don't want to use something separate, you can add actives to your cream from do-it-yourself places like www.cellbone.com , www.gardenofwisdom.com , www.skinactives.com , etc.

Because you have oily skin, in already produced products, you probably should go with serums versus creams.

yikes oily skin is the bane of an anti-aging regime! I just hope that my oil-production dies off once I late late 20s... otherwhise using the various miracle creams is going to be such a nightmare. I do think that oily skin which is not acne prone is able to "buffer" the stresses of aging slightly better than those with dry skin.

If I continue to have the same level of sebum production in ten years, I would stick to Cellcosmet (well formulated and does not cause congestion) but then I would definitely use RETIN A to help with fine lines and skin texture.

I was thinking of Skinceuticals Retinol 0.5% and to be used at night only. Make sure you use sunblock and I find Skinceuticals UV Defense SPF 30 works well for acne prone skin.

And I totally agree with mirnets with respect to Cellcosmet.

OIly skin is a less aging skin so be thankful for that.

I have oily skin and I think it depends upon your age and what is happening with your skin. It will change over the course of your life.

I am 50 and have a wonderful line that I use right now - perfect for my skin in my time of life.

I've had super oily skin for about 20 years (I'm 42 now) and have found that although I don't seem to get a lot of wrinkles the ones that I do get are very pronounced. Sagging around my mouth and jaw line is also a big issue with me. That said, I've been using Tazorac gel for a year and it seems to help with anti-aging as much or more than anything else I've tried so far.

I`m using Avene Ystheal emulsion (vit.A product) as a night anti-aging cream, and I barely care if I look oily at night or not Laughing

but I have no idea at all what can be used as anti-aging at day, as everything just makes me shine Confused

Sister Sweets, I am curious what you use.

I am turning 47 this year and have oily t-zone with occasional breakouts, but starting to notice a few wrinkles around mouth and eye area. Am trying dermalogica for normal/combination skin now, first week on this and so far seems fine but I am exploring to find just what is right for me.

I am 49 and have had very oily skin forever. I have used Tazorac for my complexion and have found that to be very good for minor wrinkles. (Retin-A would also work) Creams are not good for oily skin tho - stick to gels or serums. Retinol would not work either, since it's a cream based product (sorry to differ w/ you, Skincare)

I did nothing for my skin (wrinkle-wize) up until my mid-40's. I had NO issues besides acne. I still don't have many wrinkles - just some expression lines. Once some crow's feat, N/L's and creapy looking skin under my eyes did start showing up, I explored different options.

The best things I've found have been copper peptide serums that I just recently started to use. They have actually turned back the clock for me. I was contemplating a face lift due to loosing some elasticity in my face, but things have really improved w/ the CP's. You need to use exfoliatives w/ CP's, so the Tazorac (and BHAs I started last year) have stayed in my arsenol.

I may add vit. C to my arsenol as well. It supposedly can be used on oily skin.

Pure Skin Formulations has many products that are suited for oily skin. In the summer I have used PSF's Balancing Lotion.

PSF has an impressive product line-up. Smile

I second the Photolagen. But you can also use Remergent DNA Repair and several Valmont products including Radiance Serum and Cream, DNA Repair and Precious Serum.

Foxe, what CP do you use? I have been using Isomers and I haven't noticed much, but I like that I haven't had any adverse effects. I'm almost out, and wondering what to try next. I really want to use retin a/taz but I haven't for about a year because I am SO tired of the flaking/peeling.

So far I'd say Osea APC. It's the only moisturiser I've ever used that gives me a matte enough finish that I can use it in the day.

I've been using the Skin Bio CP's. I started w/ the CP Serum for my face and used the dilution ratio that was posted here on EDS until my face became use to it. After a couple weeks, and no uglies, I started using Super CP as a spot treatment here and there (and eventually spreading it out a little further each time). I've been using CPs 6 wks now and just introduced vit C last week, alternating days between the C and CPs.

Everything looks real good. My pores are getting unclogged and smaller and the looseness is tightening up.

I also had a blemish on my face that a derm said he's have to remove w/ surgery and the CPs have done it instead - w/ NO scar.

It's important to remember to use exfoliatives w/ CPs and if you have oily skin - and it tends to clog - then the exfoliatives are a must. BHAs work best for oily skin as they are lipid (oil)soluble which allows it to penetrate the oil in the pores and exfoliate accumulated skin cells inside the oil gland that can clog pores. For the CPs - get the serums since they're better for oily skin.
