Hi everyone I'm new here I'm so glad to have found this site, thanks to another member. Anyhoo I've been reading on here old posts about the infra red sauna and decided I must have one to try and detox this damn cellulite away. Can anyone please let me know where I can get one reasonably priced? Like say $200 or less would be awesome. And any updates about improvements would also be great. Thanx. |

I have been on the cellulite cure search also. I was looking at detoxing with a sauna but I have been directed more towards cupping. I am considering ordering another vaculift,I have the ones for the face and love them, I think the one for the body would be worth it. The other much cheaper model would be this
www.selfmassager.com
The more expensive

I have really seen results with suction more than anything else. I think a combination of sevral approaches, diet and exercise being a part. The bottom line you have to keep all approaches going.

Thanks Toby, the only problem I have with the vacuum therapies is that they are contraindicated if you have varicose and spider veins, as they make them worse. And I have both. I was thinking of doing the sauna, taking lipo6, needling the area for product penetration and then applying a cellulite cream. And of course diet and exercise. Surely I'd get some kind of benefit out of all that. |

Yes with the issues with the veins the cupping isn't the best. I have a few spider veins around my knees and after rebounding with an aeropilates machine they completely went away(you rebound while laying down). I was shocked at this occurance because I hadn't heard of it before. Also the rebounding nearly made me cellulite free. The only problem like with everything else, you have to keep it up.I haven't been as motivated to exercise lately.

No way! One machine did both the veins AND cellulite? Please tell more I've never heard of an aeropilates machine. Is it really hard to do, I mean laying down sounds like a breeze. |

I have done about every type of exercise that you can imagine and this is the best. I ordered one for myself from QVC and then got one for my 75 year old mother off of ebay. So if my 75 year old mother can do it yes, it is very easy and extremely effective. My body has never been in as good a shape as with pilates and it is the least effort. Okay now for some websites so you can see how it works
http://www.qvc.com/qsearch/search.aspx
item F04038 they have it on easy pay(several months) and if you don't like it you can return it. You can check out ebay also. Let me know if you need more information. This machine does wonders for the body not to mention it clears the mind.

The sauna is very relaxing but I didn't find it did much for cellulite. I pretty much stopped using it and now have a big thing to store. I am currently trying the dry brushing, supplement, topical cream and diet approach in the book The Cellulite Solution. Seems to be helping but has not eliminated the problem. |

Ladies, I'm on a current mission to eradicate some cellulite that I picked up recently. It's a life long mission of mine and one that I (we) must constantly battle. Having said that, I do own an infrared sauna and love it but Oakview is right, it does not eliminate cellulite on its own. However, I believe that this is a problem that must be approached from many angles. Here is what is working for me:
-Diet: a lot of greens, good supps (MSM, Calcium, Maca, Chia Seed Gel, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, multi). I drink a green smoothie almost every morning and drop many of these in as powdered form.
-Exercise: enough said.
-Ultrasound: I use either the Facemate (on 1 Mhz) or another device I have that is 5 Mhz. I think the Facemate works better, though. Must use with gel.
-Cupping: I have a rubber cupping set but there are many options out there and I think they would all work fine. You must use with oil, though, to facilitate the movement of the cups and less is more for suction (avoid varicose and spider veins, though). I apply a custom essential oil mix in Rose Hip Seed oil that I make myself to use with the cups. Lastly, I apply an anti-cellulite cream once a day.
-Chi Machine: Oxygenates the system, improves lymphatic movement.
-Rebounder: Improves lymphatic movement and is just darn fun.
I use the Chi Machine almost daily and have been cupping for 5 days now. The ultrasound is a Saturday spa day treat and works very well. The rebounder is the least used as I have to pull it out of storage but I still use it occasionally. As of day 5 of my new no-cellulite mission, it is disappearing already. It still looks like crap, IMO, because I hate the stuff but I can always tell when it's going bye-bye.
Hope that helps. |

Thanks so much for all that info scallawaggirl. I do have a couple of questions for you.
Do you think I could do the cupping and just avoid the veins? Do you use this every day?
Do you think that if I were to do the cupping, use the 1mm dermaroller and add a cellulite cream, take lipo6 and body brush that this may do the trick? Or do you reakon I'll need to add more to the list.
So glad to be talking to a cellulite removal guru here. All I've tried so far is body brushing and spa treatments of jet air therapy, which didn't do much at all and cost $1000. I want to do my own treatments and buy what I need.
Thanks again. |

Infrared saunas are pure unadulterated heavenly bliss(imo), but I don't know if they do much for cellulite. Dry skin brushing is safe for broken veins and varicose veins and is very effective in combating cellulite. Also try drinking the juice of half a lemon in a glass of warm water first thing in the morning to help flush toxins from the body. But seriously, dry skin brushing does wonders for the body and only takes a few minutes, really worth doing even for people who don't have cellulite. |

I was catching up on some old Oprah recordings on my DVR, and there was a fascinating episode recently on life extension. A recap of that show can be found here:
http://www.oprah.com/dated/oprahshow/oprahshow-20090305-dr-oz-life-extension
One of the products featured in this episode was the Infrared sauna, which got me to wondering...how's everyone doing with theirs? Are you still using them? Any advice on features I should look for? I don't have the money/room for one of the nice wooden ones, but am in the market for one of those little portable models.
TIA!

They have an infrared sauna at this spa in my city. Free 20 minutes with treatment on certain days. I thought it sounded interesting, but am I silly to be concerned it might cause a flushing reaction. I have borderline rosacea skin...
Maybe less so than a regular sauna? |

I have tried the infrared sauna a few times, and while it is very relaxing, I don't notice much different physically. I have a bit of cellulite that I just started to notice... probably better just to exercise! |

Thanks for the input, JennyJam! I love your username, BTW.
On Oprah, the FIR sauna was touted to burn 700 calories in 30 mins. I see some claims on the 'net that it burns 600 calories per 30 mins. I noticed that these claims are for the permanent saunas, not the little portable ones. Since I'm interested in the calorie burn more than the cellulite removal, I am having second thoughts about getting a portable one.
Thoughts, anyone?? |

Hmmm so the spa I was telling you ladies about is having customer appreciation month deals all of May. Any Vancouverites interested in trying out an Infra Red sauna treatments 30 minutes is now 20 dollars (it's not part of the treatment because treatments have dropped in price from 119 to 69 for facials). I think I'll try a Phytomer!! |

I went into the Infrared sauna today, and while I still have no idea if I am really burning any calories, it was SO relaxing (I almost fell asleep). I imagine that I am on a hot beach somewhere... also, my skin felt quite rejuvenated afterward from all the sweating! I must be releasing some toxins through all that sweat! (Sorry if that's gross!) |

I erased my history but just read recently that we release around 80% of our toxins through the skin so anything that causes sweating is a good thing for that purpose. |

I bought one for my hubby & I and also for my son and his wife for Christmas. Everyone loves it!
After excercises and before my shower, it's a great way to de-toxify.
I have always been a fan at the spas anyway, so having the portable one makes life easy. I also like it because I can keep my head out as I am claustraphobic. That's the one reason I never stayed in them very long at the spas. Now I can watch TV, read, talk on the phone, etc. while sitting in it.
We have all lost weight and it is a great follow up to exercise and drybrushing. Plus it helps relieve sore muscles. |

Did you buy this locally or on line? I have wanted one since the topic came up on EDS a few years ago. Would love to see a picture of the brand you purchased if possible. |

A few years ago I bought a portable one that you sit in off eBay and like it; I started out buying a steam type which I resold . They very relaxing and help with achy muscles also. Then of course I was on eBay again and saw the kind that you zip up and lay in and this one is awesome. I paid about $230 with free shipping this was 1-2 years ago. I used it the other day,and the sweat just pours off. I like the one I lay in better because my entire body can relax~after working out my legs ache. But the sitting one is great when watching TV. Like someone mentioned, at the gym, I cannot stay in one for long but since my head isn't inside, I can sit/lay in these for up to an hour. |
