Hi girls,
i'm pregnant and almost due,
i've been really loyal and applying stretchmark lotions day & night early in my pregnancy, but i still seem to get them...
i was wondering if Dermawand or Dermaroller used along with stretchmark oils / creams (ie. Bio-Oil) will prevent stretchmarks or help to lighten / remove existing stretchmarks ...hoping that it'll speed up circulation in turn helps to lighten the stretchmarks...

i dont mean i wanna try using any electronic devices on my tummy while still pregnant, but just thinking if i should buy one (dermawand / dermaroller) to use after my baby is born to speed up / help stretchmark creams be more effectively...

coz my mom has been using dermawand for more than a year now and she swores that it works wonders on her face. i've tried it on my face but it seems to be too much for the skin on my face too handle, to tingling and causes redness due to sensitivity...

any thoughts?
or if you have any better solutions to pregnancy stretchmarks?

thanks in advance =)

lmv...The dreaded stretchmarks...this is just my input...I have stretchmarks on my breast bad and my hips...these occured when I was twelve.
I woke up one morning and had boobs and hips...literally! Rolling Eyes

I had 2 8.5 lbs boys Shock and I'm only 5'2"...I have 3 small stretchmarks from them that are hardly noticeable. I know I am prone to them, I know I didn't get them when I was pregnant with big babies...cocoa butter...not lotion...get the stick. I went through one a week. Very greasy but it relieved the itching so much, I used it constantly. And now I barely have stretchmarks. Very Happy

I'll have to let you know on the derma roller. This is my second roll with a 1.5. I don't think the derma wand does much for the old ones.
It mainly helps with coloring and skin firming.

kj68: thanks for your reply~

i've been using palmer's cocoa butter tummy butter religiously, and when i'm home i'll keep reapplying it, i also go thru a tub a week...but i guess i was prone to get them... i started getting stretchmarks by 7.5 mths... they are spreading now too...

the one in a stick? is that one from Body Shop?

so i guess its safe to use a 1.5 mm dermaroller along with stretchmark creams? should i continue using cocoa butter stretchmark stick / tummy butter OR should i use Mustela's Stretch Marks Intensive Action http://www.mustelausa.com/stretch_marks_intensive_action.html ? i've heard that mustela is great for pregnancy stretchmarks... but i've tried their Stetch marks double action and bcoz of its scent and price tag i switched to Palmer's cocoa butter...

Stretch marks are such a pain especially when the bathing suit season is approaching. I used various products and lotions but nothing seemed to work. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your tips with me.

What worked for me 35 years ago, is still the best I know of;

Cocoa Butter + Shea Butter. Slather it on every chance you get! (And now you can get the real deal, and make your own)..

Coming from a 5'4" 110lb, mother of 9 lb 3oz, and 8 lb 14oz babies....I don't even have one stretch mark.... Razz

ETA: This works from the beginning stage of pregnancy, not after the damage is done!
