I have been wearing this for about 2 weeks now and I am absolutely smitten! I wore the original formula and I used the Elemental as well, and this is by far my favorite! It is just so beautiful! The weather has been getting warmer and this feels so light and silky on my skin. it looks completely natural, not shiny, matte or sparkly. It has more coverage then the original, which makes sense since Mica is no longer the first ingredient, and is more matte then the Elemental. According to LaurEss this is the formula for normal to oily skin so this is going to be my must have for summer. It melds into my skin beautifully and makes me look healthy and alive rather then showing my actual blotchy tired skin Despite the nice coverage, this does not make me look made up or feel heavy at all. I forget I am even wearing it, it is so light. This one is definitely a winner. I have read many reviews on other boards that are saying the same, so I had to share this with all of you! If you love Mineral makeup, or want to love mineral makeup but have yet to find your HG, give the Minimalist a try it is worth it. |

thank you makeupbabe for your review! i tried lauress minimalist after reading your rave, and it is now my HG!
i could not get an exact match, but a roughly 50/50 mix of radiant ivory and radiant gold covers my blotchy ruddy skin and makes me look almost normal!!
thanks again! |

I was thinking of ordering it too. Just wondering if any of u apply it under the eyes? If so, does it emphasize fine lines or crease? Thanks!! |

hi stardustdy
i do apply it under my eyes and do not notice any creasing or an increase in lines. it doesn't completely cover all my eye bags and dark circles but then nothing short of a miracle will!
the samples are quite cheap and the shipping supersonic, so hope you'll take the plunge! go on, we know you want to!!

cahoot, haha just what I need to spend again! You know, I've been ordering from so many MMU companies out there and many of them feel about the same on my skin. I hate it when it doesn't have good staying power.
It's good to know Lauress doesn't crease around the eyes. Perhaps you can use their concealer or corrector for the dark circles which I'm planning to too. Cuz mine is horrible |

The Neutralize is great for correcting undereye circles without adding heaviness. I use that lightly under my eyes then sweep my foundation over it to even it all out. Works like charm
Cahoot- I am so glad you found your HG with LaurEss |

thanks for the recommendation makeupbabe! i'll definitely order a sample of the neutralize when I make my purchase of the full size foundation..hopefully bye bye panda eyes after that!
stardustdy, i am tempted by so many things from the LaurEss site esp the luminesse (sp?) powders... brightening, illumnating...count me in!! |

I'm gonna make my purchase today. But just wanna ask u ladies here about the shades. When it says fair there, how fair is it? Is it like almost white on the skin?
Yeah I'm tempted by their luminese powder, primers, and finishers too. But I'm holding myself back cuz I don't think I'll order from them if I don't like their foundation. So if I like their foundation samples, then I'll order samples of those when I order my full size foundation. |

I have ordered some samples as well, and they arrived this week. I haven't been able to play with them, because of the warm and sunny weather.
I might use it without a primer first, in order to check its original quality... |

londonfan, it's great that you got your orders already. I just ordered recently so probably another 2wks wait for me
I was thinking the same way as u too. I'm gonna use the foundation on its own without a primer to see how it holds up on its own.
Also, I'm not sure if u have dark circles and will be putting this around your eyes or not. If u do, I would like to know if it creases or not.
Pls do get back with your review after you tried it! I can't wait to read it |

So, what's everyone's take on this MMU? (now that you've had a chance to try it). How does it compare to others you've tried? |

I'm still waiting for my samples. Guess it won't be here till a week or so
Btw, since I'm here already, does anyone know if Lauress Foundation (Elemental or Minimalist) gives good sun protection? It contains Zinc Oxide as their 1st ingredient in the Elemental and Titainum Dioxide in the Minimalist. I emailed Lauren (the owner) asking what's the % of Zinc & Titanium Dioxide she used but she said that's confidential. I'm just wondering what's the approximate SPF or UVA it offers. Oh well, I guess nobody will have an answer to that then. |

I wore the Elemental all last summer as my only sunscreen (I really hate cream sunscreen) and I never got burned, even if I spent all day outside. Maybe just a little color, but never a burn. Usually I burn instantly. Plus that was with a light layer not a heavy pile of foundation like Paula Begoun would have you believe is necessary for MMU to give protection. I am especially happy with the high zinc since it is what protects us from UVA rays which SPF doesn't even refer to. I am wearing the Minimalist this summer the same way. I will report back if I ever get out into the sun |

Makeupbabe, forgot to ask u about their correctors. You said their "Neutralize" is good for dark circles. Is that the yellow-green corrector? Or is it the "Normalize" you're talking about, the yellow corrector? Thanks!! |

My goodness, there's a lot of colors to choose from!! How in the world do you decide?! I'm pretty sure that I'm a neutral, but there's gentle, subtle, radiant, soft and pure. I've only used BE and Youngblood. BE, I ended up mixing the Fairly Light with the Medium Beige (in the summer, it was strictly the Medium Beige) and Youngblood (which I only used in the winter), I was a Cool Beige - which I believe had pink undertones (I would add BE warmth to balance the pink) - I have mild rosacea so why I would want to add more pink to my face is beyond me! Are these colors pretty forgiving? I see that they offer custom blend minerals too, which is nice.
How did you ladies decide on which samples to order? Could you give me any advice? I don't want to order too many, just in case I'm not a neutral after all. |

CMAYC, you can email Lauren which is the owner for advice regarding shades. If you believe you have pink undertones, my best bet would be to go with the Petal & Neutral series as the others are more like yellow or gold tones. If you have peachy tone, then perhaps you might wanna try their Ginger series.
As for their shades, I believe Gentle is the fairest and Radiant might be more towards the medium shade. HTH |

Stardusty...thanks for your help! I ended up ordering 4 shades from the neutral series and 1 shade in the Elemental formula (just to see the difference). I probably should have tried one in the Petal series....oh well....a little risky. It seems a little silly to spend $20 on samples, when a full size is $22 but I guess finding the right shade is half the battle, right? Make sure you post when you try them out! Does anyone know how big the full size is? |

CMAYC, the full size is 10g and I'm sure it'll last u around a yr with daily use.
I guess it's better to order a few more samples just in case rather than having to order again.
I just ordered their foundation samples this time. I tell myself that if I like it enough to order the full size, I'll add in samples of their primers & finishers too hehe
I'll definitely report back after I received the samples and tried it. |
