As titled. I feel that liquid foundation emphasizes the large pores on my nose. Powder tends to do that too but not if I dab it on gently. Anyone experienced that or is it just me? I was thinking of using a tinted moisturizer and perhaps that might help?

That's why you should use a primer before applying your foundation. It fills in the pores so it will make your face look flawless when you apply foundation. Smile

cream foundation is definitely better than liquid foundation in covering up pores. I am now using IPSA poreless foundation, it's good.

I used id bare mineral for over two years now and I actually believed it improved my skin pores. However, I just saw on TV that there is a spray water foundation that gave you the perfect look - Lumina. I am not sure how it affects your skin though.

Cream foundation can cover your pores better, but I prefer to use liquid coz cream foundation is too thick for me.

I have found that liquid foundation (Chanel is my favorite)makes my skin look flawless. However, cream foundation or mmu makes every pore show up.

I agree with previous poster id bare mineral is one of the best. In your other post I wrote that my friend use a special technique to apply make up. I can find out what is this technique if anyone needs it and post it.

For now I found this site
http://www.beautytipsonline.com/articles/applying_makeup.htm
They have some good tips how to apply make-up.
I also remember that someone said to me to apply foundation by making moves towards cener of the face and not outwards. This way make up don't get inside the pores.

Laral, did u get a chance to talk to your frd yet about the foundation application? I haven't hear from u for awhile Sad Btw, my pores are more prominent on the nose. I don't know how to apply MMU without accentuating it.

Hi Stardustdy, my friend went for vacation (she is so lucky Laughing ). As soon as I see her I will ask how she applies the make-up.
What type of make-up do you use?

Hi Laral, I tried all sorts of MMU and they're all about the same. I tried Everday MMU, Alima, and now Lauress. I'm giving up!!

may2008, perhaps I might just try liquid foundation. But the reason why I'm so persistent in using MMU is for its sun protection. Also, ppl always say MMU is better for the skin?

I learnt from Bobbi Brown's make up artist that the liquid foundation should be applied with downward motion to cover the pores. HTH!

What kind of primer do you recommend? I am trying Illuminaire liquid minerals right now but I don't have a primer.
Also, dabbling with Estee Lauder Double Matte....I had been using mineral powder but can't seem to get the coverage I want without getting oily.
On my 7th week of Obagi, too. I think my skin is in a state of shock right now!! Shock

Stardustdy , I use Amazing cosmetics foundation and powder and it is one of the best I ever tried. I have never tried Alima or Lauress, but I tried Chanele and Dior foundations with a bad result - they broke my skin and my pores appeared more visible when I applied it.
I would suggest to try powder like this

http://www.essentialdayspa.com/amazing-cosmetics-velvet-p_5029.htm
This is the one I use and it covers really well without getting into the pores. You just have to apply it with a brush and believe me it covers well!
May be instead of using foundation try powder.
I also think OCM will help too to minimize the pores.
I gave up on make-up one time for the whole month and used only oils to moisturize my skin. I did it because I had allergic reaction and my skin broke out with hives. Oil helped to calm my skin down and also clean out blackheads.

Laral, isn't the Amazing Makeup just like any other loose powder MMU?... Confused

I only tried Amazing Cosmetics, so I can't comment if all mineral based loose powder is the same. I assume it is the same. I suggested loose powder because I understand that you have problem with liquid foundation.

Hi Laral, actually I have problems with MMU. I didnt really tried that many liquid foundations yet Laughing ...hhm...perhaps I didn't explain it well enough for the misunderstanding.

I guessed it from the name of your post Laughing
The point I want to make is that when I use powder instead of any liquid foundation my pores are less visible. The liquid foundation accentuate the visibility of my pores.
I also heard good reviews about Suki make-up. I just ordered it.
Have you tried tinted moisturizer yet?

Hi Stardustdy, here is how my friend applies her make-up, it is basically what I said before:
she puts Cellcosmet Anti-Stress Matifying Cream and after 5-10 minutes applies make-up with movements toward the end of the nose. This way make-up doesn't get into the pores. Also she applies very little just enough to cover with little layer.
HTH
Lara
