Does anyone use hydroquinone on its own? I've had fabulous results with the Alyria system and my skin is smooth and clear. I really like the Alyria face wash, toner, and retinol night complex. But I have a few stubborn acne scars and I'm hoping hydroquinone will do the trick. Any thoughts? |

The majority of people that have had success with Obagi have only used the system and nothing else.
There is nothing wrong with mixing the system with another line, but your results may only be 70% as opposed to 100%.
Hope that helps. |

I believe Hydroquirone can be used with other products. Many people do their own form of Obaji (some call it the poor man's obagi) and use similar products without the high cost..the active ingredient in the clear is 4% hydroquinone which can be purchased through one of the Canadian online drug sites...hope this helps..so my guess would be YES.. |

I wont bother as the OBAGi cleanser and toner works great for me and their price is also great. When you buy the whole kit its even cheaper. |

yes you may, when I ran out of Obagi cleanser, I use my neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser, moreover, I like to switch cleansers it helps to keep blemishes away.
Cleansers and toners are prepping your skin for the moisturizer or treatment. So in theory, Obagi Clear is the last item on your skincare? so it is fine. Personally I don't like to mix treatment, so I won't layer your retinol night cream over the clear. I would use clear in the AM and your current cream in the PM.
I don't like to mix because one brand might counter the other brand's effectiveness. But that is just me, others do that all the time. *shrugs* |

I've been using Obagi since 2005 and have had nothing but the best results.
I didn't use Cleanser or toner and still got results. I use Kate Sommerville gentle cleanser and witch hazel for toner.
