I have been using the Lightstim since the GMA special and have only skipped one night...I attribute this to how soothing it is to use! I have never had red skin from using, and wonder if that is due to the 8 mg of astaxanthin I take a day. Even in summer sun, my skin never turns pink. |

For those who want to get your *photons* on for the 1st time, or want to be a 2 fisted glutton for punishment like me ( )....
....LightStim will be on QVC's Tuesday night beauty show tonight, which starts at 9 p.m. eastern time.
Price is $199.50, has flex pay option and includes a bottle of serum.
DISCLAIMER: I do NOT work for LightStim, I am NOT a shill for anybody, and I couldn't care less what anybody does (or doesn't do) in the name of beauty.. I just very simply, and honestly, share what works (or doesn't) for my old hyde... Those of you who know me for the last 5 years, also know there are only 2 or 3 things that have caused me to rave even a little bit... Like it or not, LightStim devices are my #1 rave, I own 4 of them, (and kicked to the curb an LEDman unit, the one Polifrone recommended, the DPL and the Serius Aurora that Marta raved about..What a piece of crap! Lasted all of 3 weeks before it burned out!) and my only regret is that I wish I gave a crap about all this 20 years ago... There are no overnight miracles, but a good cohesive program of topicals and gadgets can definitely slow to a crawl, the dreaded aging process... (swearin to Gawd on a stack, and hoping you all find your own Holy grail.) |

Infrared A causes aging. Now I don't know if my lightstim is safe to use. Can someone please clarify?
This is what it says: Similar to UV rays, there are three kinds of infrared rays: IFA, IFB and IFC. We can’t feel the IFA type rays, but they penetrate deeper in the skin than UV does, and cause damage that leads to skin aging. (You can feel IFB and IFC, which get reflected off of the skin’s surface.) |

Erg,
It has a smaller head (Ive a small face) so fits my face better. It is solid with a metal handle ,and doesnt rattle if you shake it It has 3 options for treatment with a switch you can choose the one you want.
It has a timer that rings so you know when you have finished the area you are on and can move on.
One of the options is for joint pain and healing so is also good for me( I had SPD when pregnant and my hips have never really gone back to normal)
It feels great to hold and doesnt heat uop quite so hot as my light stim did

Hijacking thread for a moment, so sorry, please forgive:
Kassy if you read this , could you please confirm your message to the thread I initiated yesterday (at a different skincare site): DOES THIS LOOK OK TO YOU?, the thread no longer exists
I think you told me 2 teaspoons Cerave, 2 teaspoons distilled water, 1 teaspoon LAA and drops of Vitamin E would be a better formula than the 1 I questioned.
For those reading this: Kassy did NOT say it was a great or good formula, just better than one I posted a question on...and I agree, much better indeed, today I glow so I think I've got it right
Does EDS or SCT ever have meets? |
Many members cross post on SCT and EDS.
Your thread was probably deleted on SCT because it was hijacked by a self-promoter or someone who could not conduct themselves with class. I know that has to be frustrating. |

Hi all, I'm finally looking at buying a LightStim and was going to take up the highly attractive QVC offer BUT they don't ship to Australia so I am ineligible to purchase from them.
Does anyone have an EDS discount code for http://store.lightstim.com or any other ideas on how to get this elusive little gadget and save money?
TIA |
Before Lightstim was sold on QVC Steve offered a 10% discount to EDS forum members. I haven't heard anything to the contrary, so I assume you would be able to get it.
You would have to call the 800# on the website, and order/inquire through customer service. Tell them you are an EDS forum member and ask for the 10% discount. At one time they also offered a substantial discount on the purchase of 2 LED's, but I have no clue if they still do. Personally, I think the QVC price is outstanding.. (I paid plenty more than that for my 1st three purchases.. )
Have you checked on Ebay for a used one? |

I felt much more in the years past than I do now.. In the 1st year or so I actually felt like I had a post nasal drip, and could feel the fluids dripping down my throat, and at at the outside portion of my neck on both sides..
BUT, I'd also disclose that I do little preparations before and after my LED treatments, and they could certainly play a part.
1. I always drink a glass of water pre and post
2. I steam my face/neck/chest over a big pot of boiling water prior to my treatments for about 5 minutes. (Makes my nose run like crazy..lol)
3. At the end of my treatment I apply a lotion brimming with beneficial actives, top it off with oils, and massage, massage, massage.. along to one of my favorite u-tube lymphatic massage videos.
ETA: My fav video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwM5v8PPjt0 There are scads of good ones.
I only get to it 2 or 3 times most months lately, so I really try to allow myself a good 2 hours of pampering. (In a perfect world I'd be very happy with 2 times a week.) |

Question for lightstim users...
I ordered my AALS during the promotion end of April. I have used 6 days a week for the last two months. Last week, I decided to take a break.
I started back up and it seems like it has kick started the results again. Meaning, that when I first started AALS I noticed a significant change in the color of my skin... creamy, glowy. Then it tapered off. After a week break, I see great results again.
I believe I read somewhere that after the initial period, it is best to use the AALS only a few times a week.
What are your experiences? |
I did the every day for (shhhh don't tell Kassy) maybe 2-3 weeks and then cut back to 2-3 times a week and results are just getting better erg.
I guess we really have to stick with it? |

i am still using on bare skin or a quick spray of OSEA Sea Vitamin Boost
Edit to Add: I thought for the first month it was suppose to be everyday... |

I have only been using the lightstim for a few weeks, but I do see a definite improvement on my lips and eyes.
While i am in my fifties, i do not have crows feet but do have sort of drooping eyelids that make my eyes look smaller. Also puffy undereyes.
I have seen a positive change in that my eye lids are more elastic and opened. Undereye skin texture is improving. In the morning my eyes just look flat out better.
I just set my i phone for a three minute alarm and do some surfing on the net for the half hour or so i am doing it.
I will be curious to see if it helps with my forehead wrinkles. |

I was aggressive the 1st couple of months (6 weeks I think ) and used it 5 times a week. After that I cut down to 3 times a week for a bit, then eventually 2 times a week.
2 times a week is still my goal (seldom met ).
There is no reason to overdue. You will not get better or quicker results..In fact, you could very well be inhibiting your results. (If we did a poll my guess is that the people who are using LED's 2 times a week or less are getting better results than those who use 4, 5 or 6 times per week.)
Collagen building is a 5 stage process. Once you target the cells with your *thorough 3 minute per area* treatment, just let nature take it's course for the next few days.. Somewhere back in this thread is a good link I shared on the subject. (Sadly, I don't have the paper on my new computer.) Regardless though, just do a google for "5 stages of collagen synthesis" and you will get a ton of good info.
And a reminder for those it might help... If you use a serum or cream prior to treatment and it contains oils, just be sure to apply it an hour before your treatment. (I go a step further, and just wipe of any oily remnants that might remain with a damp cloth.)
For the most part, I stick to water soluble botanicals pre treatment, and then feed my skin water/oil/antioxidants/peptides after my treatment.
Anyway, I haven't aged much in 5 years so I guess I'm doing something right.. |

I've been following this topic and you inspired me to pull out my lightstim again. I did treatments every night from last Thursday through today. I first applied NCN's Matrixyl serum, then their Green tea serum on top. Next I sprayed my face with the Ageless Secret Gold. This turns out to be a winning combination for me!! My skin looks super hydrated and even more plump today. Normally my skin dries out so much in the winter months with the blasting heat on. Thanks for reminding me about my lightstim! It's been sitting in my drawer for months now. I think I am going to really like using this device again now that I've found the right combo of topicals. Best, Aprile |

Two months ago I was given the LightStim Mini for free, in exchange for my honest review. I've used it once or twice a week since then, and ONLY on a clean/dry skin. Hi Naturebella, I do think the AALS is great for someone who is mid 30s-40s. But, I don't see it as a very effective tool for lifting when you get past that age bracket. Perhaps that is why you are seeing members looking to sell theirs. I am glad you are seeing results with age spots though...I may need to take mine out again and see if it works for me... I'm in my 50s. I am also using the Tria Laser but since it's cold and the heat is on again, I can't seem to stick with it for long because it is a little too drying for my sensitive skin. ARGH. |
Hi aprile, I don't think anyone at any age should expect the LS to help with lifting. It sure does make a difference in your skin though. I just used mine again after a couple weeks off. I'm amazed at how soft my skin is after a treatment. This device has immediate soothing effects on my skin. Between using the PICO,US,and FE, I have a hard time fitting the LS in. I hear you about the heat drying out your skin. This is the first winter this has happened to me and I'm having a hard time dealing with it. |

Thank you very much kassy, i will do some research.
Do you think the collagen build with leds is more e than with the dermaroller? |
Just want to clarify for you... LED use will increase ATP, which in turn will increase collagen production...
BUT... to really reap the rewards of that scenario, you must also feed your skin the right nutrients, and protect it from free radical degradation (as much as possible.)
What works for me is simply a topical regime of antioxidants/vitamins, which reside in our healthy skin naturally. I simply replenish them 2 or 3 times a day.
In case you're interested, my regime includes;
Vitamin A (retinyl palmitate & retinol)
Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic acid & MAP)
Vitamin E (complete tocotrienol complex. virgin palm oil serves the purpose for me.)
Hyaluronic Acid (1% high molecular weight serum)
CoQ10 (1% goes in everything I make)
Glutathione (2%)
Ceramides (from lipowheat)
Panthenol & Niacinamide (as the mood strikes me.)
ETA: I've played around with an assortment of amino acids, but in order to use the recommended amount to do any good, I really couldn't stand the smell. I prefer to keep things unscented, but amino acids (and alpha lipoic acid also), make it impossible.. Stinky |

Everything in the world of antiaging can be seen to be hit/miss. Depends on where you start from, what your goals are, and not to mention lifestyle etc. Ebay I’ve heard some mixed feedback from people who have bought their LSs so just check the packaging etc when you get yours. Whilst it may be cheaper – it doesn’t mean you are always going to get the real thing.
Oldfield wrote: |
Thanks for your answer! Still rather strange that this seems to be more of a hit or miss thing. But nevertheless I ordered a used LS from Ebay and will see what happens. I'll keep you informed |

Actually, it says in grey on the back "Lightstim for wrinkles" . With the engraved CE under the switch. Maybe someone can confirm if this is an official edition of it. Cheers |
Ok, then you have the new version, the original was called Anti-Aging Lightstim, if your handle says "Lightstim for Wrinkles" it's the newer version. Mine must have the CE engraved too I just cant remember, I do remember the CE but couldn't remember if it was on the new or old, maybe both. I haven't used mine in months since I've moved, it's actually still packed away in a box. I should bust it out and should do some treatments! I discontinued using it for now, because I have been doing ReAura treatments and microneedling before that. Even though red LED is okay to use with nearly any other skin treatment, I usually like to be easy on my skin and do one device at a time.
Again though, going by your description, your Lightstim is ABSOLUTELY legitimate, its not a knock off, its the real thing, so don't worry! |
