Yes she has, my sinuses clear out also when I do my treatments (treats). I am not complaining, it is a blessed relief! Very Happy

Abstract
Background and Objectives
Photomodulation has been described as a process which modifies cell activity using light sources without thermal effect. The objective of this study was to investigate the use of a non-thermal low dose light emitting diode (LED) array for improving the appearance of photoaged subjects.

Study Design/Materials and Methods
This prospective study investigated a random cohort of patients (N = 90) with a wide range of photoaged skin treated by LED photomodulation® using a full panel 590 nm non-thermal full face LED array delivering 0.1 J/cm2 with a specific sequence of pulsing. Subjects were evaluated at 4, 8, 12, 18 weeks and 6 and 12 months after a series of 8 treatments delivered over 4 weeks. Data collected included stereotactic digital imaging, computerized optical digital profilometry, and peri-ocular biopsy histologic evaluations for standard stains and well as collagen synthetic and degradative pathway immunofluorescent staining.

Results
Digital imaging data showed a reduction of signs of photoaging in 90% of subjects with smoother texture, reduction of peri-orbital rhytids, and reduction of erythema and pigmentation. Optical profilometry showed a 10% improvement by surface topographical measurements. Histologic data showed markedly increased collagen in the papillary dermis of 100% of post-treatment specimens (N = 10). Staining with anti-collagen I antibodies demonstrated a 28% (range: 10%–70%) average increase in density while staining with anti-matrixmetalloproteinase (MMP)-1 showed an average reduction of 4% (range: 2%–40%). No side effects or pain were noted.

Conclusions
Photomodulation to reverse photoaging is possible with a specific array of LEDs with a specific fluence using a precise pulsing or “code” sequence. Skin textural improvement by digital imaging and surface profilometry is accompanied by increased collagen I deposition with reduced MMP-1 (collagenase) activity in the papillary dermis. This technique is a safe and effective non-painful non-ablative modality for improvement of photoaging. © 2005 Wiley-Liss, Inc.

I know the specific range (wave length) is important regarding what is effective and what the use is intended for.

I recall Keliu and some others are using the DPL and happy with it due to it being a much shorter treatment time, Hopefully one of the owners of that will pop in and give you more information on them. Very Happy

The link below features Dr. Harry T. Whelan, who constantly comes up in medical studies. In addition to all the healing properties this article mentions another important issue. Once in a while, but not very often, we are asked if LED lights can be harmful to ones eye sight. We have not found any medical tests suggesting that or any spas, estheticians or Dermotologist (all of which use these lights everyday) having every experienced that. At the very end of this article it speaks of Dr. Whelan and some other doctors doing a trial using LED light to help with the current leading cause of blindness in the US!

Before Lightstim was sold on QVC Steve offered a 10% discount to EDS forum members. I haven't heard anything to the contrary, so I assume you would be able to get it.

You would have to call the 800# on the website, and order/inquire through customer service. Tell them you are an EDS forum member and ask for the 10% discount. At one time they also offered a substantial discount on the purchase of 2 LED's, but I have no clue if they still do. Personally, I think the QVC price is outstanding.. (I paid plenty more than that for my 1st three purchases.. Crying or Very sad

)

I felt much more in the years past than I do now.. In the 1st year or so I actually felt like I had a post nasal drip, and could feel the fluids dripping down my throat, and at at the outside portion of my neck on both sides..

BUT, I'd also disclose that I do little preparations before and after my LED treatments, and they could certainly play a part.

1. I always drink a glass of water pre and post
2. I steam my face/neck/chest over a big pot of boiling water prior to my treatments for about 5 minutes. (Makes my nose run like crazy..lol)
3. At the end of my treatment I apply a lotion brimming with beneficial actives, top it off with oils, and massage, massage, massage.. along to one of my favorite u-tube lymphatic massage videos.

I only get to it 2 or 3 times most months lately, so I really try to allow myself a good 2 hours of pampering. (In a perfect world I'd be very happy with 2 times a week.)

Since I started using LED, my dry eye syndrome has improved - so much that I no longer need to use saline drops. I thought that it was probably coincidental - but then someone who is an opthamologist posted on the thread that LED therapy around the eyes has been shown to improve tear duct stimulation or some such thing!

I was skimming the massive quantities of lightstim pages and seem to recall that some of you ladies have used topical vitamin c before lightstimming...wondering if anyone has had good results with this ( I am thinking just vitamin c and h20) as a pre-treatment..thanks for any information. i am using green tea capsules mixed with water off an on as a pre treatment right now.

Question for lightstim users...

I ordered my AALS during the promotion end of April. I have used 6 days a week for the last two months. Last week, I decided to take a break.

I started back up and it seems like it has kick started the results again. Meaning, that when I first started AALS I noticed a significant change in the color of my skin... creamy, glowy. Then it tapered off. After a week break, I see great results again.

I believe I read somewhere that after the initial period, it is best to use the AALS only a few times a week.

What are your experiences?

I did the every day for (shhhh don't tell Kassy) maybe 2-3 weeks and then cut back to 2-3 times a week and results are just getting better erg.

I guess we really have to stick with it? Wink

i am still using on bare skin or a quick spray of OSEA Sea Vitamin Boost

You may be right erg, I am bad about directions sometimes, I thought a week but I have been wrong before!

I have done bare faced (naked) or with a GT and antiox serum mix! Very Happy

I have only been using the lightstim for a few weeks, but I do see a definite improvement on my lips and eyes.
While i am in my fifties, i do not have crows feet but do have sort of drooping eyelids that make my eyes look smaller. Also puffy undereyes.
I have seen a positive change in that my eye lids are more elastic and opened. Undereye skin texture is improving. In the morning my eyes just look flat out better.
I just set my i phone for a three minute alarm and do some surfing on the net for the half hour or so i am doing it.
I will be curious to see if it helps with my forehead wrinkles.

This sounds like me minus the puffy eyes and I am 58! I agree I am seeing improvement with the LightStim and too funny, many of us seem to use our iPhone as a timer! Very Happy
