I should stay off the Delphi Forums. They are enablers of money spending too. (lol!)
They were chatting about using hydrosol toners and I was wondering if you could recommend any good ones. They sound interesting.
One thing they did note was that some of them smell yucky. One girl had said her hydrosol smelled like feet. Hmmm...don't think I want that one.
What do they do exactly? Do I even need one?

I use rose otto hydrosol. Hydrosol is a posh name for flowerwater and they are the byproduct of essential oil distillation. I don't know about others, but my rose one smells of roses (if it smells of feet, maybe it's off?) and I use it as a lovely toner, or any time I need to refresh my face. I run it through my hair as well sometimes, but I don't think it does anything
I get mine from here

I recommend Naturopathica's hydrosols. I also love Eminence Organics toniques they are alcohol free and are wonderful! |

I agree with guagagirl, it's just water distillant from essential oil extraction.
You can buy Lavender, Rose, Bergamont... whatever takes you fancy for about $10 for 1-2 litres. Put it in a spray bottle and enjoy!
This way, you can pick and choose and even blend together the scent that you like.
As to real skin benefits, I very much doubt it! Some might argue that it's hydrating, but no more than spashing your face with cool water! |
