In my search for the perfect skincare line for my 30 years old acne prone skin I saw on the Internet that a sensitive kit from Proactiv existed. Did anyone try this before ? The regular kit was too strong for my face and I read that this one contain BHA instead of BP.

I also read about a new kit for acne from the Cetaphil company. Anybody heard about this one ?

Thanks for you help

I've never heard of the Proactiv Sensitive skin line; I did some searching on the internet and could find nothing. Can you provide a link?

I use Proactiv. I know a lot of people hate it, but it's the only thing that keeps my skin consistently clear.

There are a few mentions of the Sensitive Kit (using salicylic acid instead of BP) on the net but it almost sounds as if you have to call customer service to be able to buy it... A few of the mentions:

(search for "sensitive" on this page to see the reference to the kit)

I call the customer service and yes they do sale a kit for sensitive skin for the same price of the regular one. They don't talk about it on the website and I did not find the sale representative really informative about it either. Its like she did not know anything about it... Confused

I'm so excited there's a sensitive skin kit. I use the mask on spots at night, but the regular of everything else is too strong for me. Thanks for telling us it's available.

Also, I've been using Cetaphil cleanser, lotion, and cream for years. I'd definitely try anything their name is on!

I have used all the various products and kits from Proactiv, My opinion-THEY ALL STINK! They are too harsh for my skin. When I use them they dehydrated my skin, suck every ounce of moisture out and leaves your skin really messed up. I say skip the proactiv. I used cetaphil for years, I would love to learn about a "kit" it does not contain harsh products, my vote Cetaphil

I used Proactive for a number of years when I was hit with hormonal outbreaks in my late-30's....it was far more effective than anything I used, and I tried everything out there (including antibiotics, etc.)

I still use the Toner daily. I keep a bottle of the Repairing Lotion available for emergencies, but seldom have to use it now, thank goodness.

For anyone with sensitive skin, I would also suggest looking at the Rodan & Fields line by the original developers of Proactiv to see if they have anything that meets your needs.

Proactiv was on QVC today (or maybe yesterday). I watched the entire segment. There was no mention of a sensitive skin product; but, I do remember hearing that the regular stuff is okay for sensitive skin. It's great stuff.

I heard that Proactiv works initially and then it doesn't do much afterwards. I guess the skin got used to the product?

That is usually the case...I only used mine every day to clear up the initial mega outbreaks. Then they recommended using the Repairing Lotion just the week before your period if your breakouts were hormonal. I did that, and never had an issue with it ceasing to work.

They never talk about it. But if you call they will give you the information about it.

And this is the link for the Cethaphil kit.

http://www.cetaphil.ca/En/AcnePrinciples/Default.aspx

I went to Walmart and Zellers to try to find it with no succes. I will keep on looking around...
