Trigger,
when I have the chance to discuss it again with the Biomedical engineer I can ask if he can make some recommendations for you. If you are interested - PM me what needs to be avoided may be he can recommend something.
I am glad that this gel is a solution for the most. The manufacturer most definitely knows his own products. If I am going to get one I will also keep that in mind.
All the best to all. |

Yep I know about the occipitalis and have been doing that exercise and one by Tom Haggerty and can't move my ears to save my life, but its not through want of trying though.
So I'm wondering if the Safetox device would work that muscle. I'm trying and been doing a thing Tom talks about where you do his exercise on a pillow but no luck. My hubby can really move his ears, and its annoying that he is able to do it and I can't!! Argh!!!

Does it touch the occipitalis? Im trying to figure out how it can have that effect. I see it would touch the centre of the forehead, which would relax that area but it mentions on the site it works this muscle as well. I've tried moving my ears and can't do it for the life of me, so this device is really appealing to me if it will grow this muscle stronger. |
Hi Theresa Mary - the occipitalis is necessary in moving the ears! I learned to do this by doing a flex effect move called Scalp Flex. Feels like it is lifting your scalp up - really cool! I do it everyday just because it feels so good and I think it creates an overall lift to the face.
(PS: not trying to promote anything if anyone is worried. PM me Theresa Mary if you have any questions - just want to be helpful to you). |

The Tacgel suggestion sounds very interesting, thanks, trigger. Thanks also to sigma and Keliu for looking into it.
It would be great if Safetox did come up with their own line to enhance the lifetime of the patches. I await possible developments with much anticipation! |

I don't know what help you can give me Sigma. Talking to the developer of Cefaly is much better for me than going through a second party to someone who doesn't even know the specific device via someone who doesn't even have it.
I'm sure anyone who is the least bit doubtful can do the same. Otherwise, there's no pressue to try what I found to be a helpful cost saving solution for those that own the Safetox. There's no problem with that! Just trying to share the results from my own experimentation! I read enough about the gel before I purchased to feel it was the perfect thing. Best of luck to anyone that tries it, and let us know how it goes. I think you'll be very happy. Afterall, I've made one electrode last months and months with this stuff, and its going as strong as when it started! I certainly wouldn't risk ruining electrodes or lessening the quality of my treatment. Especially as I do a minimum of twenty minutes a day, and it's become my lifesaver.
Thanks for your concern though Sigma. Perhaps you'll get one! You sound very interested! |

I am indeed very interested in both Safetox (for my forehead wrinkles) and Cefaly (for my husband).
If I had to choose between the two I would go with Cefaly 1st, since it would help to alleviate the pain.
Trigger, have you tried tens units (or other ems type units) before Cefaly and found them ineffective? I am not asking out of idle curiosity. There were various other machines promising the help with migraines, so that info would be of help to me.
TIA |

Perhaps you can ask your 'biomedical engineer' friend who sounds most knowledgable. |

Trigger,
that is how I know about their existence to begin with. Since he never tried them himself he has no personal knowledge, and based on his recollections they did not work (their company no longer deals with these units).
Before spending a not so small amount of money I am trying to figure out what is different with Cefaly. So if these units did nothing and Cefaly worked - that would an invaluable piece of information.
I actually want him to read all the info on their website and may be, if there is not enough technical info, contact them to understand it better.
Anything you can add would be greatly appreciated. |

I got a Safetox for Christmas!!! Yay! I had read that some of the members thought it was a strong sensation. I guess I thought they were just being wimpy because I got mine, slapped it on my head and pressed the start button twice. I honestly just about hit the floor when it started. I collapsed into a chair while I was clawing at the thing trying to turn it off. The next time I was prepared. I was lying safely in my bed and only pressed the button once. After that, I decided that I was the one who was a wimp.
It took me two days to get up the nerve to try level 3. It is strong but I'm getting used to it. I was relieved to see that other members have had similar experiences. I don't know how I missed those stories before. All I remembered seeing was a comment or two about it being a strong sensation. It feels more like electric shock therapy to me. (not that I've ever had that)
I do see a big difference for the first hour or two after using it. I'm looking forward to the cumulative effect.
I'd like to know if some of the earlier members on this thread are still using the safetox and how often they have to use it to maintain the results. |

I use this almost every evening before I go to bed. I use breathe strips on my 11's to sleep in. I am very happy with the results. I do notice on an occasion when I forget the strips at night some of the 11 come back. |

I've gotten used to level three and it is relaxing to me now. Thank you, Sherryfl, for the note about the breathe rite strips. i have slept with medical tape on the 11s before and saw some results. Maybe a combination really is best.
It seems that the 11's are improving but I'm not seeing a big difference yet with the horizontal lines on my forehead. Do those just take longer? |

Great news about the pressie Tonia!
Thought people might be interested to hear that my husband who is using my cefaly for relaxation is getting pretty dramatic results on his elevens. I started noticing that immediately afterward treatment his lines and forehead is dramatically smoothed. The effect seems to be lasting longer and longer the more he uses it.
I noticed a funny thing on my forehead too. I have a vertical scar where the eleven line would be (albeit much shorter, about 7mms). This fairly deep scar completely flattens out directly after a treatment, and takes some time to settle back to looking like itself! The cefaly really must flatten out the muscle pretty dramatically to have these kinds of results. It also seems to be accumulative.
My headaches are improving, depending on which kind of headache it is. If it's coming from the neck or the back of my head, then there's not too much that can be done for it. But those painful behind the eyes ones are quite improved.
I've actually just been approved by my insurance company for six months worth of botox treatments for headache. That might be successful for the back of the head... I was shocked I was approved for it, because the specialist didn't feel confident they would, at which point I asked if I could just pay for it myself, and found out it was about 10 grand a pop (needing to be repeated usually at least three times to start seeing results). Perhaps the two treatments will work hand in hand to improve things all around! Here's hoping. |

How have I never heard of this before tonight!?
Ok girls, any recs for where to buy from in the UK and for the extra pads?
I will sit down and go through the whole thread tomorrow night but am thinking have already read enough to order
How quickly did you notice a difference, and do you think it's good enough to give a browlift effect? Have considered Botox as a brow lift but am too scared of it going wrong and ending up with very high eyebrows - but I need to lift them slightly before my eyes vanish under the *getting worse* drooping |

Forgot to say, I can already 'lift' my brow including feeling the muscles lift in my ears, top of scalp etc so am guessing from the first 5 pages this is basically what it does for you?
I can only 'hold' my DIY lift for max 30 secs before it aches but it gives me the exact lift of eyebrows and brow that I need to look fresh an awake etc. I read somewhere that a Botox brow lift only paralyses the down muscle, but keeps the up muscles up and from the sound of it this is the same thing but a) cheaper, b) safer and c) reduces tension headaches so I defo wont to get one ordered this week
Any advice or recs would be hugely appreciated! |

I love this little thing. It has made my eyes wide and my 11's gone. I had botox in April and it usually doesn't last but 2 months maybe before I need more. I did another botox with a lot less injections on Tuesday. So I am hoping that I can do botox 2x's a year and be good or none at all. I love, love, this thing.
I have not used the Safetox since I had botox on Tuesday. I will use it for the first time again tonight. The dr. said not to bother the forehead for 24 hours.
In addition to the Safetox, I use breath right strips across my 11's so that when I sleep, when I scrunch my face up the 11's don't come back while I sleep. I do scrunch my face up badly when I sleep. Now when I wake up my 11's are not there and don't come back all day. Yeah!!!!! I highly recommend this little thing. |
Hi. I'm curious how you use the breathe right strips between eyebrows? Do you have to cut the strips a certain way? Are they strips really stick and hard to remove?
For the rest: Is Safetox still working for all of you? |

Hi Toby:
I just purchased the Safetox yesterday and can't wait to get it and try it, but I was wondering about the tac gel.
Can you recommend any places to purchase the tac gel?
Also, how are you using it to make the electrodes last for a long time?
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Eyeswithoutaface....My results of dealing with forehead wrinkles is nothing short of amazing and I was a tough case.
lisacollins00,
I googled Tac gel and came up with all sorts of places and I chose the best price which was around 10.00. the funny thing is I ordered it and it seemed to take a while to come and when it did I realized I had ordered from the UK and I am in the USA. For some reason I didn't pay attention the the location of the place that I was ordering from. It is really wonderful. I took an older electrode and put the gel on and it worked like it did the first time I tried it.The gel is just wonderful. Congratulations on the purchase....I just love mine because it is easy to use and it is so effective!!! |

So after each use do you wipe the electrode clean or leave the tac gel on it for the next use?

You apply the tac gel and it revives the electrode to it's former sticky state...it is between an adhesive glue and gel combination. Anyway it absorbed into the electrode pad and makes it brand new with the ability to stick even better than before. |

I spent an hour today looking at all the stores online who sell this item to see who is the cheapest (yes, I know I probably could have spent my time someway better lol...but I like to save a penny whenever I can)
So these are the two stores I found with the best deals for the 50 gram tube.
http://mspexpress.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=17
This store sells it for $5.00 plus $8.95 for shipping. For a total of $13.95
http://www.balegoonline.org/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=228
This is the store Bethany mentioned above. They sell it for $7.95 plus $5.73 for shipping. For a total of $13.68.
The one thing I noticed is with the first store if you order two the shipping stays the same so the total would be $5x2= $10.00 + $8.95 for a total of $18.95 making each bottle only $9.47
With the second store if you buy two the shipping does increase. The total would be $7.95x2= 15.90+$6.41 shipping for a total of 22.31 making each bottle $11.15.
So if you just want one bottle then one company is cheaper if you want two then the other company is cheaper. |

You only use a little bit to renew the electrode and don't have to use it again for a long time so I would say one tube would do. |
