Hey would appreciate some help with this one. Ive had oily problem prone skin my whole life, which while not being very pleasent made choosing a moisturiser quite easy, I just went for the lightest one possible. Afew months ago however I started using JM oily skin cleanser and bioclear lotion, and it is helping with breakouts but my skin is now really really dry, but im still having some problems with blackheads and im having problems finding a moisturiser thats going to hydrate my skin really well while not clogging my pores. Ive tried md formulations antioxidant gel but didnt feel it addressed the dryness, and I dont much like the lotion. Ive been looking at great new skins chrysalyx. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas??!! |

I never thought I would be recommending bird fat, but I have had great success with emu oil. It has normalized my oily t zone, hydrated my dry cheeks, and I have had ZERO clogged pores or blackheads.
I am soooo in love with it that I just bought a quart of it.
And yes, birds died, but they are farmed for their meat and the emu oil is a byproduct of that. |

Being another life long sufferer of oily/dehydrated taut/acne prone skin, I have learnt the most important thing you can do for your skin is to hydrate and hydrate, never compromise the integrity of the skin surface by over drying it to help one issue (oil, acne) to create another issue (dry weakened skin).
I would still try a cleanser that will relipidise the skin, no need to over cleanse to make the skin feel tight. Changing your cleansing habits will help with balancing sebum production a lot.
I depend on a hydrating serum completely for providing moisture to the skin, the moisturiser on top helps to provide functional actives and seal in moisture.
If oil continues to be a problem, try a retinoid for balancing sebum production while exfoliating the skin to prevent congestion. |

You can look into the recent thread
"Can skin be dehydrated and also produce oil at the same time?"
The key is to get the skin back into balance, providing hydration, and avoid using acids and harsh products.
Some of the advises are to use the Clarisonic brush or dry brush the face, replace cleansing gel with a cream cleanser, drinking water to hydrate the skin, and use emu oil or a hydrating (not too rich) moisturizer.
