My skin is just so oily that I can't find an oil that works. This product seems to clog my pores and make me a little more oily... I have switched to using it on my hair and it works beautifully |
Have you tried grapeseed oil? I find it very very drying. It's supposed to be very nice for oily skin.
I have found that argon is just one of those oils that is either hit or miss for people. It is either a miracle or a bust and that rule doesn't even adhere to any one type of skin (for instance, it's not like its great for, say, oily skin but bad for dry). For some people, oily or dry, it's great. For others, it's not. |

jadkin, you might also look into safflower oil, which I've seen people praise. You just have to get the high-linoleic kind rather than high-oleic. A brand that is high-linoleic is the Hollywood brand.
Linoleic *supposedly* helps the body produce sebum that is thinner/less viscous than without it. And this is said to help acne and clogged pores. Perhaps it is even drying (?).
Grapeseed and high-linoleic safflower are practically the highest of all oils in linoleic acid, and they are both cheap per ounce. They are not particularly stable, but I know that the Hollywood brand has added Vitamin E, which I am pretty sure makes it longer lasting.
A few years ago somebody here REALLY raved about hemp oil. It has a lot of linoleic acid, but balanced with a little more omega-3 than the safflower. This combination apparently really helped her. |

I'm trying Argan oil for the first time and hope to get great results. I've found that it can be very expensive to buy but I'm glad I was able to find a free sample of it.
Here is a review of a new (I assume it is new) aragon oil based product line called Essence of Argan from the ReinventingAging blog...

I used JM Argan oil on my acne prone skin to help a burn heal under the recommendation of someone at Sephora. The burn healed great: no scar, no acne.
I love all the suggestions for good quality Argan oil from smaller companies. Thanks!!! |

I prefer the ultra-refined grade A emu oil over Josie Maran's Argan Oil, which didn't absorb as nicely. However, while I love what emu oil does for my skin, I would prefer to find a plant-based oil that has the same or better benefits. I haven't tried other brands of aragan oil. Now that I know Nature's Gift carries it, I will have to give that a try. |

I have been using argan oil for a few months, and unfortunately for me, it's not so great. The good: it doesn't exacerbate my acne. The bad: I don't feel like it penetrates my skin at all. I feel like it just sits there. My skin feels super dry like I didn't add anything to it at all. I guess I need something stronger to use with my anti-acne regimen since my skin is so dehydrated from all the stuff I use to try and keep my skin clear. Oh well, at least I can use it on my skin and hair! |

I love argan oils. most of my friends use it as a hair oil, i also like it as a body oil before bath. massage a thin layer of argan oil into skin before shower and then wash your body as you do usually. Sometimes, I also mix the Argan oil with sweet almond oil as a body oil. |

hi, thanks for this valuable post.
I have used a few bottles of the josie maran argan oil and then i found the lighter version..
I totally agree that it will make your skin glow and the most amazing thing is that after you use it in the morning, at the end of the day, you do not look as dull as if you did not use it.
a lot of other moisture do not last whole day, but this definitely does. |
