Has anyone here had (or know someone who has had) a "Feather Lift" (also known as "thread lift").
I was reading about these today and tht they can be helpful to the brow and jowl areas (my two problem spots).. I had never heard of them before but am intrigued..
Thanks! |

I've read a lot of horror stories about this. That the body tries to push the threads out, that it only lasts about 6 months, lots of problems with infections. I'd do a lot of research before I got this done. |

I know someone who had it done and it bunched. Plus one area to be redone because the thread broke after a long vacation to Europe. My med/spa/derm doesn't do them anymore. The gals there said they had too many different types of complaints. |

I've also heard that this type of technique isn't popular anymore. A while back though, I did go and enquire about a thread lift but basically the doctor tried to talk me into a face-lift because the cost for that wasn't that much more than the thread lift and lasts a lot longer. Also, after doing some research on the net, I went right off the idea of having it done. |

Yes, I have to admit that the research I did really put me off the idea... one place described it as "threads with barbs" OMG
All the way home tonight I kept touching under my chin wondering if people could feel the " barbs" |

I don't know about feeling the barbs - but many people complain that they can actually SEE the threads under the skin Even the doctor mentioned that this may happen, but he said that the skin will eventually thicken around the threads and they won't be as visible. All sounds a bit of a risk to me. |
